and look at the gallery to see some of the stuff they did before they gave up. i think theres some other stuff in the news section too. although there\'s not a normal dread there, there is an ork dread

From what I can tell looking at the model, I believe the feet pivot side to side and it moves in something of a waddle. Not sure if that\'s what the sculptor was going for but it seems to make the most sense to me

More like a gunslingers shuffle in an old westren, I\'d say:bouncy:

its actualy fairly funny how they walk... theres a VERY good view of one walking in the opening scene for DOW... and while playing in the game they seem to take fairly short but fast step... its kind of like watching an amazingly large bulky penguin running around lol

I always thought they hopped.
I mean, the legs aren\'t long enough to raise and step up onto a slightly higher ground, and they are centered just under the main mass of the body. I guessed they used 2 separate legs to compensate for uneven terrain and the splay-feet look a lot like old Sci-Fi spaceship landing gear, just for vertical landings, not rolling steps.

i guess they must look like babies taking their first steps then - only with an assault cannon and power fist!

It\'s a shame that little movie has gone from page one..

That illustrated quite nicely how a Dreadnought might move.

Who dug this old sausage up again anyway???

Dreadnoughts walk like Hank Hill\'s father Cotton. You see Cotton got his shins shot off in WW2, and dreads aint got no shins either, so I guess they both walk the same which is kind of a waddle from side to side with each leg being swung in from to the other.

(Seriously guys, it\'s just a game, isn\'t it???)

They probably have similar personalities--- being ol\' crusty vets all shot up and the like:D

I\'ve always thought that they do something like the walk cowboys do in old movies.

Stand up and try this: stand with your feet set about shoulders\' width apart. Do not move your knees. Walk from the hips, pivoting your torso as you go.

I picture it something like that, slightly more fluid since they have knee joints, but not much.

now look in the mirror and realise how stupid you look!!!

But when you\'re walking like that and looking at yourself in a mirror, you don\'t have the advantage of huge built-in gyroscopes to help you keep your balance.

Picture this: You shuffle, you look, you fall. Wife laughs.

There must be some socket joint in the coupling between the pelvis and the body main and massive motors to move/lock the joints.

Turn of movement probably goes something like this: Leg in rear postion retracts, gyros whine to keep dreadnought on balance, forward ankle joint and pelvic joint begin to rotate body forwards, leg in rear position swings forwards, re-extends and plants itself firmly on the ground in forward position. Then the whole sequence repeats.

Does this sound reasonable, sorry, the film is gone, haven\'t had a chance to see it.

hmmm interesting..
I think like babies...
babies don\'t walk but they fall forward and on the right moment they know how put their feet infront... pretty slow... and.. in this case.... not so cute
