How do i remove the \"shine\" from decals

i am looking to expand my Black templar army with a few more troops. I intend on using the templar symbols off the space marine transfer sheet but i don\'t want the horrible shine it gives off. Does anyone know how to apply transfers but not make them shiney?

The final clear dullcoat will do the trick.

Never thought the dullcoat would work, will have to try that, only started using dullcoat recently.

What I used to do was just paint over the decal. I find they look better that way anyway as you can add some blacklining and highlights that aren\'t normally there.

Yeah, just paint over it with normal colours, or thin down some pva glue and paint that over the decal in a few layers, that will take the shine off since pva dries dull.

decals will lose much of the film if you apply them to a gloss finish.....then matt over that. You can invest in some decal setting solution if you\'re really serious (the decal with soften and confrom more to the rounded shoulder pad).
