How do they sculpt like that?

Hi im new to this sight.Ive been looking at trying to sculpt armour on my 40k mini\'s.Iwould like to learn how they grt that massive looking terminater armour with all that detail.Look under black templar on this sight and you will see what i mean.Can anybody help?

Other than practice, the thick basic forms are sculpted first, then the finer details are added on top of that.

If you have never sculpted before this is a little like someone who hasn\'t painted asking how to paint portraits; lots of learning, practice and experimentation ahead of you.

Your probably meaning Scibors (sp?) stuff, he does all the shin pads on computer, and cuts out with a laser machine thing.

Yes sigmork that is what i was talking about.I have done some sculpting before but nothing close to that.Do you happen to know the name of the machine they use?

Thanks roger,that is more than i wanted to know.I guess in will do things the old fashion way.Do tou have any tips on some black templar armour?I have about 5000pts in templar and want to make a high marshal to finish my army.

For icons and such, try using thin plasticard to cut them from, and then if they need curving to a surface, you can heat them in hot water, bend them round the surface, and then when they are dry and cool you can glue them on
