How do you change your avatar?

I went to the FAQ section and it wasn\'t very helpful and I did a search on the threads and couldn\'t find squat.

SO, for someone who is computer illiterate - how do you change your avatar to one that you downloaded to your machine? I\'d be grateful for all the help I can get!

Look to the \'top right\' corner of your screen. Click on \'user control panel\'. everything you need is there.

You can browse for an Avatar, but you have to shrink the file SO much, often they are hard to see.

Other people will give more complete answers, I\'ll shut up now....

@Donga - thanks for responding. I got dragged into stripping paint off a fireplace mantel and am just now checking this thread.

I did go into the User Control Panel, but once there I wasn\'t sure what to do. I couldn\'t click on the avatar itself (at the top of the page). There\'s a pull-down list for avatars lower down, but it wasn\'t pulling images off my hard drive (or at least if it was I don\'t know where they are).

So...I\'m still clue-less as to how to change it. If anyone else out there knows what to do please let me know.

I changed mine from the your account link on the voting pages. Just above the \"something about you\" insert is a browse button. Heres what it says: \"5k max, 50 pixels wide (wider pics will be shrunk)\". From there you can search for the pict on your computer. I hope this helps.

Thats funny Im sure you could do it through the forum cotrol panel.


Go to the main site and top right is your user account link where you upload pics and such.

Theres an upload bit for your avatar there.
50 pixels wide and 5k max.

It worked! Part of the problem, after I found where to change it, was that the avatars I\'d chosen were either too large or too many pixels.
