I\'m into the more \'scary\' horror. \"defy scary?\" - I mean not gory. Gory isn\'t scay, I\'m talking about real good horror movies like 1308, the bunker, grudge. Those are awesome horrors. I also would like a story to be told in them, not random killing of a demon/beast/monster who juts needs human blood:rolleyes:

I do like creature features.....

I am in the minority here, I\'m sure, but I really liked Cloverfield. Well, as soon as they got to the good parts, I could have lived without the tween-angsty dramafest parts.

The HOST, is a Korean \'creature feature\', and was a damn fun movie to watch.

Oh yeah, the American release did have alot of anti-american sentiment to it.

Like how it was America\'s fault that the creature existed.

The movie plot was dorky, but the creature and the scenes with the creature were really good.

That Worst Case Scenario is something I\'ve been partially following for a few years. The trailers are creepy as hell!!!

Ok. You know that beautiful Han river the guy wanted to preserve in the beginnig?

Well along some parts of it are little tents that sell beer or traditional liquor. When the customers have to pee or...well...drop some kids off at the pool, they just walk outside and do it in that \'pure clean\' river.
I like Worst Case scenario too. They are truly the creepiest zombies I have ever seen.

Speaking of monster movies. I was wondering if you had the toy Godzilla and/or Shogun Warriors when you were a kid? My cousin and I loved those things.

I have seen very, very few movies that actually were frightening.

Maybe because I have no sympathy for when stupid people die, and this seems to be the genre\'s bread and butter. You freaking know the killer/monster is there in the corner, yet armed with a broken baseball bat you continue to hesitantly call out, \"Ted? Ted, is that you...?\" Congratulations, I\'m now rooting for the bad guy, and you deserve what you get, you mouth breather. Most films are just utterly stupid in premise and story. Hostel, Saw, etc, totally silly.

There was one movie that I found really damn scary. A Japanese flick called Audition. It\'s a Takashi Miike film, so it has some moments of complete gross out, but I found it extremely disturbing and frightening.

Other than that, I enjoy well done \"horror\" movies even if they don\'t frighten me. Silence of the Lambs, I\'ve seen dozens of times; don\'t think I have to repeat how great the acting and story in that film are. Night of the Living Dead (the remake with Tony Todd and Patrica Tallman) is also an excellent film. Good acting, and the zombies are merely a background for a story about humanity. The end credits get over-the-top silly in trying to make this statement however.

I really like old b&w horror films. Two that spring to mind immediately are

Night of the Demon (Curse of the Demon in the USA)
The Haunting

other stuff

The Shining
The Howling
Evil Dead
28 Days later
Most Zombie stuff
30 Days of Night (for the ace vampires)

Like most horror films, although not massively big on the \'Hostel\', \'Saw\', \'TCM\' types (although curiously do like a good \'slasher flick\').

Man after my own heart. This perfectly sums up my tastes - think it goes back to watching (from beneath the bedclothes) \'The Howling\' when I was 14...

Oh yeah! I def. had Godzilla toys. But no Shogun Warriors....I always wanted them though....They were sooooooo cool!

I had several different Godzilla ones, one was a windup that actually shot sparks out of his mouth!

Apparently, I used to stay up late on Friday and Saturday nights when I was just 3-4 to watch the old Godzilla movies.

I vaguely remember doing it, but my parents say everybody else would go to bed, and I\'d be up into the late night watching the Creature Feature.

To this day, they still call those type of movies \"jimmy movies\".

ill agree that there are very few films that scare me. among the exceptions are alien & aliens. face huggers, chest bursters and people trapped in webs begging \"kill me\" i find very sinister indeed. gigers art work is fascinating and terrifying in equal measures.

coupled with x-files alien abduction scenes, aliens gave me many sleepless nights during my teenage years. it didnt help that id been suffering from sleep paralysis and would frequently awake to a feeling of sheer terror, unable to move whatsoever.

although i tend to prefer more psycological horror, i did enjoy hostel, but only upon discovering the \'twist\'. early on i had dismissed it as another lame slasher movie, but i found the late revelation of the \'torture tourist\' industry horrifying in itself. its just a shame that this is spoiled for anybody who sees the trailer, as this twist seems to be the films selling point!

Yeah. My cousin had alot ofthem. I only had one.

We use to get Godzilla movies and stuff like that on Saturday afternoons when I was a kid in the states.

Ahhhhh..The good old days. Fifty cent comics, big league chew, and pixie sticks. Those were the days.

Damn I am old. lol

I had that Sleep paralysis for a while too. It just so happen to correspond when I was reading the book Communion (which is about alien abduction).

It\'s like your mind wakes up, and has no power over the body. Terrifyingly frustrating.

i believe my sleep paralysis is born out of stress. ive experienced it for years now, on and off. ive not suffered any for a few months now, which can only be a good thing.

in a strange way i do miss them when theyre gone as, however terrifying at the time, its something that fascinates me. i dont recall ever remembering any dreams before hand but the fear when you \'wake\' is something you cant forget.

That film was horrible. Goes along very nicely, paces along quite gently, tricks you into thinking it is some lighthearted romantic comedy then hits you in the face with a breeze block.
I didn\'t sleep very well the night after watching that.

Peace and love...
