how do you make tree branches

I’m having trouble getting my tree branches to look real for a conversion I’m doing. I’m sculpting them out of green stuff anyone have any ideas on improving on this or a better way thanks

For starters, pictures are always useful to help diagnose the problem. In the last link below, there may be some helpful tips on where your sculpt is going wrong.

if its a small thing for a base, try using roots. they are finer and fit the scale well
