Nice!

So this year, xmas day will be her first time meeting my dad...
Ooooooh :D

As for me, my (small) family always gets together for Christmas. Since my mom passed away, it\'s just me and my brother, my dad, and my one aunt, sometimes my other aunt and uncle. We just relax and eat a lot, mostly. Exchange gifts on Christmas day. Not very exciting but it\'s really great to be around my family and not have to rush back to go to work.

Let\'s see.

Presents, presents, spending time with my fiancee\'s family, presents, avoiding my family, presents, gammon, turkey, gammon, presents.

Oh yeah, and the midnight mass at the local church.

Gotta love the fact that it\'s only 12 more sleeps to christmas.

To top all the X-Mas terror, my birthday is on Dec. 25th. Usually we begin celebrating at midnight. :D
This year I will spend the 24th alone with my girlfriend (first year in new apartment). We will have a nice meal and then PRESENTS!!! :) In germany we share presents at 24th in the evening. And on 25th we will have a nice brunch at a lokal restaurant with the family of my girlfriend. My parents will \"escape\" X-mas this wednesday and once again fly to the maledives and come back someday in the new year...

Well Fran & I wish you the best of luck and hope that everything works out.
You\'ll have to drop us a line when your next over to the UK and perhaps we can hook up again. (Without the Gamesday crush/rush/angst/panic/teenagers) :D

We will spend Christmas with the parents this year. Peg\'s Mom had to go into a long term care facility (nursing home) and Peg feels a need to spend some time with her. Get to see my folks and aunts, uncles, cousins as well.

Hardest part is not to let the pressure/stress of the season ruin the time with family and friends.

God bless all.

Dragonsreach - so...April...the weekend of the paris GD shilpa and I will be in paris..

well, full plan is:

Friday prior to the compet, I will land in the UK early morning (as I did in september). Go to her place and sleep while she\'s at work. Fri night go out with some of her friends and her. Saturday early afternoon, go for that channel train that goes to paris. Sat night, dinner in Paris (awwww) near the Eiffel tower (* can anyone here guess why planning a dinner and evening at Eiffel Tower??? :D )

Then the sunday we\'d go for competition (she wants to come and watch and meet some of the painters....uhm..Cedric...you are on french tour guide duty for her since she wants to hear you speak more french!)....sunday night not sure. Monday head back to London. Then wanted to visit Wales (she\'s never been there either) and Freakinacage is out there and said we should visit so we\'ll take him up on that :p :p (sorry freak!). Then maybe couple days out there IF it;s possible for us and anyone out there to meet up. Finally back in London to hang with her brother and friends for last few days before I head back here...

Sanjay :)

What is gammon? I\'ve heard the term before but forgotten the definition.

My fiancee and I usually spend Christmas Eve with his mother, opening gifts and enjoying a home-cooked meal. On Christmas Day he and I just watch movies all day and eat leftovers.

I\'m so disappointed to hear Dragonsreach say that he has turkey on Christmas. Whatever happened to Christmas goose?
lol

This Christmas....

...I will do what I have done every Christmas for as long as I can remeber.

1) Nail the front door shut.

2) Take the batteries out of the door bell.

3) Take the phone off it\'s hook.

4) Draw every curtain in the house.

5) Relax.........:D

You haven\'t tried to buy it in Britain for a start! Rather buy a GW boxed Army set it\'d be cheaper.

Only had Goose once, found it to be a very greasy meat so not interested in it.
Mind you I could go a bundle on Duck for a change.

Our plant is shutting down for Christmas so I wil have 13 straight days with no school/no work. I plan to:

1. Lay in the window like my wife\'s cat; moving only when the sun does.

2. Drink so much coffee that I upset the worldwide market and Juan Valdez has to do overtime to keep up.

3. Negotiate with wife repeatedly for \"special present\"

4. Play games and paint minis with my 3 sons.

@Phil, so how do you intend to sleep if you have had that much coffee? :D

@Hoblit, Thank you for counting sleeps, when my girls were toddlers that was how we counted the \"days\" until a big event, x amount of sleeps till we go to grandmas! I had forgoten that, thank you for the warm rush of memories :)

We spend Christmas at home, made the mistake of traveling about ten years ago, went to my in laws, wonderful people, Loved my MIL more than my own mom!
unfortunatly it turned into the Christmans from HELL, both Kids spent 3 days in the hospital, Christmas eve, Day and the day after, sick with a nasty virus, came home on the 26th, had time to take a shower then the Ice storms hit, ripped the power lines from the house, went with out power for almost a week, could\'nt leave to go home because the mountian passes leading to my home were closed, Long story short, what was supose to be a 4 day holiday trip turned into 2 weeks of vomit, poop, cold no power, Husband and I got sick, nightmare!

We now stay home, open one present Christmas eve, then in the morning the girls wake us up, we open more presents, then have a pancake breakfast, my sister and her kids are coming over this year so we will open more presents then, then I will cook for the rest of the day.

The best thing about Christmas at my house, is the week after, I close my daycare for a whole week (the only vacation I take all year long) I am so giddy with excitement, a week and a half to go!!!!!

Merry Christmas every one, I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends and may your stocking be full!
