How long do I wait before I bring the doom?!!

How long do I wait before leaving somebody a negative feedback on ebay and relisting the item.

My auction stipulated 10 days, however this guy bought from me before, even though he was an ass clown about it even then.

He said he was having trouble with his credit card, but now it\'s been nearly 3 weeks,2 weeks since he responded to emails.

Drop the hammer

I am sure everyone here has been burned on eBay. There are a few common sence rules that many eBayers do not follow, like bid on only what you can afford and pay for what you bid on. Frag his ass and do it now, otherwise you are only helping him set up the next seller for more of his lame ass excuses. Oh by the way, if you are using a credit card to afford eBay items, I think its time to drop the computer off the roof!

I usually wait as long as I can, usually a few weeks, and then I send them an email giving them like 4 days to pay or you will leave negative feedback; that way you have a solid defense in case they decide to retaliate with bogus negative feedback.

I have had issues on eBay and know that waiting is hard, but What ever you do Block him . I block every bu@@sh&t bidder I run across fool me once shame on you ... fool me twice ....you know the rest.
Have you contacted him Thur the ebay system contact buyer as well, not just email? I send the whats up you have 72 hours or I will need to respond note If you wish to not continue with this let me know. You can also go to unpaid item dispute area and see if you can make progress there. Negatives stick to the giver as well as the receiver even if it is a bougus response to yours.

Oh believe me for whoever burneth me will be forever banned from my auctions.
I have sent unpaid reminders and contacted ebay as well. It\'s sad that honest buyers and sellers are at the whim of these m@$%&%$#%s , it\'s like being held hostage with bogus feedback.
I just wish he lived here.:D

This is really tricky..

I treat my rating on eBay like gold dust....I would do nothing to foul it up so I don\'t see why others are so casual...unless they are complete sh1theads???

It\'s a tough call Vlad...slam him and he could slam back..you have to have enough eBay kudos to soak that up...

Personally, if I were to sart selling seriously on eBay, I would open a couple of accounts at least, so that I could keep at least one spotless.

Ths doesn\'t help you though Vlad...You know the solutions..and their possible consequences... Time to open another account ....possibly???

Sounds good..

...but don\'t you still owe eBay commission from the last auction???

Sounds like the thin end of the wedge to me..

But he can still leave you negative though??

I had a guy buy a mini that the arm broke at a casting joint in the post, dab of super glue you would never know.I offered a refund /fix etc but he did it himself and even left positive feedback.
Though it said
Recieved broken but offered to fix or replace.
Aaaarghhhhh that hurt.

He said he was having trouble with his credit card, but now it\'s been nearly 3 weeks,2 weeks since he responded to emails.

That excuse about the credit card sounds totally bogus. PayPal checks the status of the cards you register with them at the time you enter the card number. If he was having credit card problems, he should have been well aware of them before he went buying stuff. He\'s probably trying to get a new card because all his others are bad, and now his bad credit keeps him from easily getting a new account. (And how do you get bad credit?- NOT PAYING FOR YOUR STUFF!)

Go ahead, leave him neg feedback, I doubt he\'ll be surprised. Just keep it polite and to the point-- \"Non-paying bidder even after given extra time. No reply to e-mails\". Adding the part about \"given extra time\" makes you looks better, like you tried to work it out, but he was the ass.

If he gives you neg feedback in retaliation, just post a response to it stating that it is retaliatory. A lot of the time, if I see something like that in a seller\'s feedback, I often checkout the feedback of the person who left the negative, often it\'s someone who gets a lot of negatives themselves.

C\'mon, PITY NO MAN, stop pitying him! Sic \'em!!!:flame:

Like the lady above so elaquently put it...

Fry him !!! It seems obvious that he has no intension on paying. After appropiate time and warning, which you have given him, you are more than obligated to punish the heratic for his transgressions. If he retaliate, contact eBay and demand a retraction. As long as you contacted him through eBay, they will have all the appropriate documentation necessary to retract a slanderous mark on your rating. I am generally a nice person, but I have dropped the hammer on more than one $%^& from ebay that was sorry enough to cross me. I also have a spotless rating as well. Best of luck, but I would be choosing my weapon right now! ( 5 foot Claymore... that would work!!! )

One way to leave negatives without reciprocation is to wait until like the 89th or 90th day. Then you can quickly \"snipe\" in a feedback and unless they\'re right there to catch it (since eBay doesn\'t send email notifications re: feedback), the 90 days will elapse before they can leave feedback.

I had a seller do that to me re: a Tau army box and some other stuff. The guy was horribly incommunicado, then he cancels the transaction and doesn\'t respond to my emails (I want PERSONAL contact before I send money). I figure what the hell and let it go.

Three months to the DAY the bastard left me negative feedback which I had no chance to reply to! :flame:

I would report him as a non-paying bidder and Second Chance the item.

That is a bad place to be...I had a guy that had like 90 deals - all positive that won an auction, but was never heard of... I tried emailing him and getting ebay to contact him... Finally left him a neg feedback and relisted the item.

Things happen to people...medical/family emergencies, get called up to the military, etc. but you would hope that he would say something.

If you really want to drop the hammer and you have some webspace simply write up an account of the whole sorry affair including copies of any email correspondance. Then when posting negative feedback simply link to the page. That way any right minded individual can blatently see who the assclown is.
