Short of adding new features, I don\'t spend much time on CMON, it pretty much runs itself (since only borg does modding as I\'m a lazy git) besides participating as a regular user.
Terry is right, it\'s a lot easier using a good CMS to handle your updates. I\'ve noticed that PHPBB has gotten very good as of late as a general news system which automatically spawns forum topics for news items, and has several good gallery plugins which you may want to consider instead of the static pages you\'re using now. You will need a server that supports PHP and a database though (but practically all Linux servers will now).
That said, I must have spent a thousand+ hours getting the site to where it is now.
Oldtimers, reminisce with me...
- avatars
- integrated forums
- shoutbox
- articles
- anti-sniping (yes it\'s in there and it\'s my secret sauce)
- vote tracking(!)
- auto-thumbnailing
- comment notification via email
- favourites list
- subscribers
- ebay auctions/featured auctions
- browsing galleries
- top artists and rankings
- webmaster tools like ranking images and comments to display on your own page
Can\'t remember the rest, I\'m sure I\'m leaving stuff out.
