How many skulls could gw sculpt if gw could sculpt skulls?

lol! just thought I\'d point it out for all of you who hate the skull thing they do (skulltaker anyone?)...Have you SEEN the new modular terrain??! the cracks are filled to the brim with skulls...bizarre...where did the rest of the bodies go from these very specific and neat open graves? I can\'t think of a geological function that would serve such a purpose...

excuse me I\'m off to collect a large quantity of hyoid bones for a diorama...

They ruin it for everybody with their excessive use of skulls on everything!! I definitely think that skulls can be used quite effectively for decoration and creating a certain atmosphere. But not heaps of skulls on every single miniature and every single piece of ground work for basing etc.

Thanks to GW, I now feel slightly embarrassed every time I put a skull on a base. :(

Cue the genius of Mitchell and Webb\'s Nazi\'s sketch:

\"Have you noticed the emblems on our hats?\"

\"Never really paid it much attention\"

\"They\'re skulls....\"

\"And?\"

\"Well... I\'ve been thinking... does that make us the baddies?\"

I\'m a huge GW fanboy but yeah, the skull thing can bit a BIT much at times. In the latest WD they\'re showcasing the battlefield set with different terrain set ups. I especially like the one with the Empire town set up by the great chasm of skulls thingy. How do you not notice a great chasm of skulls when you go looking for a potential place to settle down in the country side?

\"Here we have your standard two story house, room for a cannon on the second floor BTW, and out in the yard we have.... Boy those clouds are coming in quick. Best stay in doors and not go and take a look at the completely normal, not haunted at all, and definetely not a place of worship of some great distubing entity that craves fresh skulls fortnightly, back yard. So... do you guys think you\'re interested in putting in an offer?\"

Oh, now seriously, don\'t worry about the skulls. Look! Turn them over and use them as planters! And just think, they aren\'t smashed open, so the plants will just LOVE the nutrient rich growing medium! Think of the money you can save by growing your own vegetables! I just so happen to have the offer paperwork in the chariot. Let me go get it...

... mind if I borrow your sword and crossbow? Why? Oh, er, no reason.

i bet they sell these by the bucket load, why, because kids will love them, fanboys will love them and most people don\'t have the know how or time to build a gaming board.

to be honest, for fantasy gaming these are pretty damn sweet.

no question they\'re a great idea, and the fact that they can be packed away so well is just sublime. That said, the skulls.... *shivers*

It\'s not so much the skulls as the lack of any other bones in that pit that wierds me out.

What you guys don\'t have a skullpit in your backyard?

We just had to get a loop-loc system put in place for the winter, as we don\'t need little Gwendolen falling in once it\'s obscured by snow cover. As she\'s walking now we figured next year we will have to install some sort of fencing.

EDIT: these modular boards sound interesting, anyone got any pics? The GW Canada site is all messed up and is stuck in some infinite link loop.

The Boards themselves are a great idea, and will sell by the bus load. I myself will likely pick one up for running demo\'s and for an extra decent board at tournies etc. I do really, really wish that the skulls weren\'t on there and that it was more generic.

I have lots of people who play other systems who would likely have picked up those terrain boards, but playing a 15mm WWII game the skulls really stick out on a Normandy themed terrain set up, you know, because of the scale issues.

While on that particular board the number of skulls is somewhat excessive You can look at the paintings below. The name of the painter is Vereshagin and the subject is well documented historically. Sooo... If you try really hard you can put a lot of skulls in one place.
