How many?

I bet you thought this thread was gonna be -

\"How Many more members must we lose to this constant bickering?\"

Naaaaaw... nothing as maudlin as that:D

What I was wondering is how many of us spend more time posting to the Forums then we do actually painting? I\'ve only been posting for about three weeks now, and realize that I\'ve spent maybe two hours painting during that time! I have little spare time, and now spend most of it here. I don\'t want to spend less time here, but I want to get back to my painting.

Hmmmmmmm... I know! I\'ll quit my job and tell my wife she needs to get a second job! Yeah... that outta go over well.

lol

*raises hand sheepishly*

Since I\'m working on my very first mini I definitely post to the forums more than I paint. I\'ve primed though! lol

Actually, I painted quite a bit yesterday, but had so much laundry to do today that I never made it downstairs at all today. Such is life!

I have learned to balance and paint the in between dry times First look then later for a break post, things calm down here when I paint which is late at night US. I paint till Cedric gets ready for work in France. I have more time away from brush from the MSN than posting I think.:)

*raises hand* thats only cause i dont get minis that often cause i cant afford it much with the WWII stuff and other crap! lol

Well, before I got the kitten I would sit here at my desk and paint and post. But now I don\'t get to have that luxury. I think that it is about 50/50 for me. Although I have not had the chance this past week to do much painting at all.

A common affliction. When I\'m not on a deadline (i.e. all non-contest minis) I am a glacial painter - I pick at the minis a few minutes at a time. CMON forums are part of that. Slashdot and Fark are another part. Buffy on DVD is yet another way to get no painting done.

But this is probably procrastination aid #1...

Guilty as charged

With a girlfriend and studying to do, I know that starting a painting project is the worst thing I can do. Oh, I\'ve got enough WIP, but once I start on them in earnest, nothing else happens.

When on a job, nothing else matters. I get home and I start painting and I paint till my eyes get heavy with sleep. Can\'t study, because I\'m thinking about the painting. Can\'t think of my girlfriend, because I\'m thinking about the painting. :D Okay, that last is not true, but you get the picture.

So yes, I spend more time here than painting simply because I dare not paint anything at the moment.

Yeah, guilty, especially since I can\'t post on here from work now. :( Luckily though, when Ian gets home from work he normally takes over the computer so thats when I spend time painitng!

Well I usually post when I\'m doing homework and chatting on MSN (yes all at the same time :p). So I still have plenty of time to paint. Oh and I also post in the moning. First thing I do in the morning actually, get up from bed and check all the web sites I go to, CMON beeing one of them :p (is that unhealthy ???)

The 5th amendment says I don\'t have to answer that.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure that you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Well, I can post from work, but I can\'t sit around at my desk and paint...so I suppose I fit the bill too.

At home, however, I usually don\'t touch my computer so much, so in my free time I spend much more painting than posting. And much more time going out and grabbing a pint or playing video games than painting. Unless I get in a groove...then I paint a lot. But I\'m obsessive like that. :)

OK everyone I have to admit this - I\'m posting here because I\'m afraid to go downstairs and work on my mini. This is the first one I\'ve ever done and I\'m intimidated as hell. I know that everyone\'s first minis probably look like hell (except for maybe Victoria\'s and Alexi\'s and Eric\'s and.....), but it seems like the bar is awfully high these days!

OK - sucking in gut and logging out so I can go face my fears!! Wish me luck! (Because I\'m a real weinie!!)

:waves: Good luck! Ganbatteyo!

And yes...I think we all have had pretty bad first minis. I was telling Anthony about mine...they were old plastic dark elves that I decided to mess around with to see the color schemes in 3d since I hadn\'t done anything like that before. I found one of them recently while I was reorganizing my stuff...and dark elves in bright orange and yellow look funny, let me tell you. :D
