How much time do you actually spend painting?

I am about to ask the question we all shy away from. We fear it will prove to everybody that nobody actually paints on this website. Obviously we are all fakers - just look at the good looking folks in the post your picture thread - no nerdy gamers or painters in there. So how much time do you actually spend painting? If I am lucky I can get a good 10 minutes a day which is usually enough for a quick layer of one color. Takes quite a while to finish a fig.

Whenever possible....

I try to get in about 2 hours before work (sometimes I can\'t, it all depends), and about 2-5 after work. Sometimes I get slightly bored with doing the same color blend all over the friggin model (look for my Lord of Nurgle... coming soon). Basically I pick up my brush whenever I can, sometimes I just get sick of staring at the mini.

Depending on what I am doing. Lately with my Be\'lakor I have been running in 5 hour shifts with a break to hit the CMON boards every hour. I dream orange and can taste ink in my sleep! argh.

Basically, I paint, work and sleep.

All day, every day

with about ten minutes every hour and a half or so to look at CMON, snack, go to the bathroom, etc.

My total time at the desk is about twelve hours.

Everything between 0 and 15 hours per week. I try to paint at least one evening every week, sometimes I paint more and some weeks I paint nothing at all :(

Since I\'m a slow painter and spend way to much time on every single detail I don\'t get a lot of minis finished.

About 5 minutes every interstadial. :D
Actually I think only dragonsreach may be able to claim that his painting is related to interstadials lol

I normaly paint for a few hours at a time with drinks breaks etc. every few days unless I have an exciting project or urgent deadline.

During my summer holidays I have spent every waking hour painting. When I wake up I make coffee and then I go straight to the painting table. I then paint until I go to bed, and I try to sleep as little as possible so I can paint more. I\'m a fanatic, I know, it\'s just so much fun. Plus, I have been painting for ebay lately, cause theres such things as bills unfortunately :(
Anyways, I paint more than what can be considered healthy I guess ;), I have to force myself to be social at the moment. Hopefully this fanatic phase will pass, or I won\'t have any friends left...

Go ahead, check that post for my pic, and then see if you still want to say that!lollol

My actual time painting has increased tremendously. I paint for a couple of hours a night, two or three times a week. I still can\'t seem to finish anything, but I am getting good at opening those GW paint bottles!!lol

I\'m trying to paint for at least 2-3 hours every evening. Yesterday I\'ve spent four hours piainting one tiiiiny area. It gave me a terrible headache and made me dizzy. But at least I\'m happy with the results.

Playing, not painting

Sadly, my painting has suffered because I\'m actually PLAYING a miniatures game. I\'m hooked on Reaper\'s Warlord. I\'ve painted (though granted, not to completion) about 60 figs for this line since June. I was setting up demo figs - wanted to be able to field five factions at once. And I can do it! Yeah!

My painting goes in spurts. Sometimes I will spend every waking hour I\'m not at work or commuting on painting, others I\'ll go days at a time without picking up a brush.

On average, I\'d say I spend 5 to 15 hours per week painting.

The Warlord rule book is due out the end of this month. A special edition was released at Origins that was supposed to be the final edition. Due to errors found by people reading the OLE, publication was haulted and the book went back for another edit.

Thanks to the changes made from the OLE (Origins Limited Edition), there should be a lot less errata with this book than in a lot of first printings.

Well, when i am in a painting spree/frenzy, I will spend 2-3 hours a night painting. However, as seems to be happening more and more, when I hit a slump, I will go without painting for 4 or 5 months, maybe with the odd go on the weekend.
