Hi,

I\'d need opinions on how to continue painting this mini, what to do?

It\'ll be part of an army, so I\'m not aiming for display quality with this one. I\'m still experimenting with a color-scheme and effects I want.

I\'m really out of ideas what to do now.
please help

(until image is waiting approval it won\'t show apparently)

thanks

You might want to limit your color palet for the energy source and eye elements. I think your blue works rather well and should replace the green elements.

The rest is tricky since you\'re aiming for a gaming standard and the mini is painted cleanly and has a neat color scheme. So consider this as optional :

*) Your highlights are mostly on the edges. If the dominant light is coming from above, the top parts of the red armor should be highlighted more;
*) The metalic parts look good, but you might want to add more contrast with some diluted dark brown;
*) Have you thought of adding some symbols on the rear red part?
*) I think his chest symbol could use another color for contrast. Either the dark red you\'ve used if you want something neutral, or the ice blue you used to make it pop.

I\'d also suggest you take future pics with a neutral background (a sheet of paper).

Hope that helps.

symbols: yes, they are planned for the back.

I think his chest symbol could use another color for contrast. Either the dark red you\'ve used if you want something neutral, or the ice blue you used to make it pop.
hehe, actually I used space-wolf-grey for the symbol on the chest. But true, in the photo it looks like the metal.

i agree about keeping just blue for the glowy bits. once you have done symbols, it\'s will be fine. a whole army like that would be impressive

see those highlights on his face, chest, arm and fingers?
Paint them in with mithril.

I agree, the chest symbol could be either red blue or gold - just to make it pop.
A glowing blue would look very good with the other blue bits.

Right now you\'re working with too many colors.

Paint all the black parts (gun and exhaust vents) with your metal color, making them darker and dirtier toward the bottom.

Paint the symbol plate on his chest the same way you painted his carapace and make the actual symbol metallic.

Cover all your greens with the blue you used on the gun.

When you\'re done with that, sit back and see if you like it. The smaller number of colors will speed up your painting and it will give your completed army a better look.

A little different model and color scheme, but I\'m stuck.

I have no idea how to continue.

what I\'d like to know: what have I missed/did wrong on the torso.

with what color should I put freehand on the engine part ?

hmm, I don\'t know how to resize, but probably doesn\'t matter, as the bigger the pic the easier to spot mistakes I missed.

Argh! Necrons! Where\'s my blowtorch?! :p

I prefer the colours on the last dude (Entry above)

So what\'s wrong with the torso of him?
And why not just copy the symbols on his shoulders but larger?
