How to define the horizontal line on NMM?

I\'m going to do a new article on SENMM fairly soon, well, as soon as I can get all of my real world work done. It\'ll cover defining the horizontal line, merging horizons and maybe a bit on cylinders. I don\'t think I’ll touch blending, layering or feathering as people tend to go with the technique they\'re used to for smooth transitions of colour.

I\'ve also been approached by a certain sculptor to do a figure with a lot of skin showing as a full chrome skin job, a la silver surfer, but I’m just trying to get my head around the reflections and multiple horizon lines. :D

you have to me carefull what you call SENMM and NMM.

if you have a cylinder say, then what you most often see is paralell bands along the length of the cylinder. there is often no horizon line on a peice when using SENMM. if that doesn\'t sound right welcome to the world of mirrors.

i can get the concept but i can\'t do it properly.

One of those parallel bands will be the horizon, usually the one closest to the perpendicular surface on the cylinder, but of course if the cylinder is tilted upwards, backwards or wherever, then things get complicated. A sky earth non metalic metal surface that replicates a mirror finish will reflect everything. :D
