How to do lettering?

Do you want it to be legible on the scrolls?
if so do the letters with a sharp HB pencil and then go over them with highly thinned black paint using a 000 brush.
If it\'s just to look like scripting lines then highly thinned black paint and do imitation graphs to represent the upper and lower stripe characters. Start with a coloured icon to represent a bit of \"Illustrated\" leading letter. (Think old bible or religious texts, and you\'ll get my meaning.)

They come in various sizes, various colors, last a long time and give you precision markings that (for me) are next to impossible with ANY size brush.

Argh! i hate those! Nah, use a brush, but this is a handy trick when you do(works with micropens too, but hey 
)
write out the word or words you want to paint unto the model on piec of paper in the size that it woulsd fit onto the area. Then figure out which is the middle character, and place that in the middle of the area you want the text to be. Then work left and right, painting in the characters from the middle outward. this isn the best way of getting your text to be snug in the middle, and fitting in the area you want it to. (don\'t you hate it whenb you\'re writing something like\' Inquis Extermina......\')lol

I know my way of doing it: single stroke lettering. It\'s a hard technique, but it makes lettering anything a breeze. Anyone who goes into graphic design has to know it (even though we use computers nowadays). Basically, it\'s like the name states; you break the letter down into it\'s basic parts. For most letters, that\'s just a line, with some curls in some (S being the hardest). So, if we were to make the word \"CAT\", it\'d progress like so:

See how arduous it is? The thing to remember is you are not using your own handwriting, you are drawing letters which is no different than drawing a box or cow skull, whatever.. Calligraphy kinda goes hand in hand with this, but I just use a brush instead of a pen.
