How to fix minis with holes and fuzzy areas?

I just placed a big order of Rackham minis and some of them have \"bumpy/fuzzy\" areas and some castings are so bad, there are actually chunks missing in the metal. Is there an easy way to fix these problem areas? I\'ve used greenstuff in the past, but I was kind of hoping for more of a liquid that would settle into the low areas of the bumpy texture and smooth it out.

I\'ve heard that some people use a \"wash\" of magic sculpt to smooth out rough areas. Might be worth a try? You\'d probably have to do a few layers if it\'s really bad tho.

a combination of sanding and then a milliput slip (realy watered down milliput mix like a thin paste then painted into the sanded area)

once the slip is dry sand the area again and repeat if neccasary.
patience will give far better results than any quick fix.

No chance the seller would replace the faulty models? Sounds like alot of extra work to fix.

Milliput (or similar) slip + sanding is a great way to go, but as QuietiManes says if any are really bad then definitely worth trying to get replacements.

I\'d like to get an exchange, but the online retailer I went with has already had 3 problems with this order, so I was hoping to fix the problem myself. The milliput slip sounds like a really good idea, gonna give that a try when I get ahold of some. Thanks!

standard milliput is perfectly up to the job mate.
when filling holes/gaps, mix a little milliput in with your green stuff as you can then sand it smooth a lot easier once it has cured.

If you can\'t get hold of milliput easily, You can paint over the area with PVA glue and allow to dry, repeat as needed to get smoother surface. Primes up just the same.
It\'s worked for me a number of times, especially with GW cloaks, which do tend to show \"Air Bubbles\" marks in some of the more recnt casts.

Maybe even a coating of cyanacrylate glue? I\'ve done that to quickly \"seal\" some porous materials for bases etc in the past. It should dry very smooth and hard after all.
