How to layer Vallejo still water

Greetings. Can I please have some tips on working with this stuff. It\'s best applied in thin layers? How long do the layers dry in between? About how thin? If I color the water with ink, will I get striations in between the layers? The bottle says this stuff takes 24 hours to dry, hopefully the layers don\'t need that long.

I tried just filling up a taped off area, but a hole kept forming after an hour or so. Every time I filled the hole, it would come back an hour later; no idea where that \"water\" was going lol.

I have to rebuild this entire base, I want to do it right this time! :)

it shrinks as it dries, thats why the hole kept on reapeering.

just paint thin layers on and use a hair dryer on a low setting, you should be able to get a depth of 4mm done in half an hour doing this.

the low setting is needed to prevent the water from blowing away.

So I shouldn\'t bother trying to make a frame and pouring with this stuff?

if your going to be filling something that is more than 4mm then get a two part clear resin.the reason being is that the single part air drying resin shrinks a lot when drying if you create layers that are more than 1-2mm in depth.

if you do nee to creat a barrier then just use masking tape.

solid water gets my vote too .. Andrea is prett spiffing but there are some great ones out there.. I\'m forced to use low odour lw fumes clear resins due to having a 3 year old trotting about but they really are qute simple to work with...
