how to put a metal mini onto a resin base?

Hello
I\'ve bought a set of great looking resin bases (not a bubble in them! wonderful!), and I\'m about to assemble an Eldar unit that I plan to put on these bases for gaming.
The problem is that the Eldars in question are in metal with a rail between their feet, and I don\'t know how to proceed: should I cut off the rail and pin and glue the feet to the base? Is there a patented way to do this?
I\'m a newbee lost in the woods (well, not completly: I know I must wear a mask when making resin dust :-D.
All ideas and infos most welcome. I\'m stuck as I don\'t want to paint my eldar and then pin or glue or whatever to transfere them to their new bases as this would no doubt damage the paint.
thanks a bunch
Best to all!!:beer::]

Cut the slotta tab off, with clippers or a dremel or something. Then file the base of the mini down as there could be a bit of roughage (sp?) left over. Then using a pin drill drill a hole in the resin base and a hole into the metal model, there won\'t be a need to use a dust mask if you are just pinning one hole.
Then just superglue a pin into one of the holes and slot it into the other hole.

I just attached a Reaper halfing to a resin base. I clipped the reaper base off, then pinned the halfling through one foot and stuck the other with super glue.

It appears to be stuck well and good, and suffered a bath and scrub in soapy water well enough.

You should have an easier time of it then I, as removing a slotta tab has got to be easier then removing those damn brocoli bases.

yup, just snip of the slotta bases flush with the bottom the the models feet. You may want to file it down flat for a nice solid base to glue on.

Pinning is recommended, but not absolutely necessary. I would attach them on the bases BEFORE painting and then primer the whole thing. I have terrible luck trying to move a painted mini to another base without damaging it.

I always glue the pin into one part then prime seperately with a bit of tape over where the pin would get primed.

This means i can then paint them seperately without missing any bits.

I cut the tag on the minis feet down leaving a spike on each foot. Pare the spike down to a chunky pin and drill holes to fit. Easy-peasy.

indeed

Cmoners are indeed grrrrreat! what a fantastic community! Thanks a bunch for all the answers.

I love the idea of not guing base to fig at once so as to be able to paint them separetly!

Thanks a bunch!
