Hello All!
I have recently aquired a ForgeWorld Night Goblin. There is a boney color to it and I dont know if there is paint on it or not. When I take my exacto and scrape a little nothing comes off but when i add a little bit of pressure to it, it comes off and reveals a different color underneath. What should I do? If i need to strip it, what should i se to strip it without damging it because this is a very old and rare model. Thanks everyone!

Any chance you can take a pic of it and post it here? I\'d like to see it. It sounds like it may just be discoloration on the metal. If not use Simple Green to strip it. It\'s a non toxic house hold cleaner. Just soak the model overnight and take the paint off with a toothbrush under warm water.

I will try and take a picture of the model tomorrow. It is not a metal model, it is a resin. I have hard of metal models getting discolored but i have never heard of this happening to resin models.

That sounds like it\'s on there good an\' tight. If the surface is acceptable then there shouldn\'t be a problem.

Search is your friend - lots of prior threads, lots, on stripping; what\'s the best choice is partly going to be based on where you are.

It is exceptable to paint on, but i am planning on entering it in Golden Demon and it has some bumps which make it look like a rough surface.

If the bumps are just here and there you can rub them down with steel wool, a glassfibre eraser or fine abrasive paper.

If this is on more of the mini than you\'d like to tackle in this way then stripping would be a good idea, then you can prime as you prefer to get the flawless undercoat to help do your best work on top of.
