How would you paint Skeletons?

:bouncy: Well thanks... I painted the screaming skull catapult in neater colours than my skeletons. It was blended from chaos black to codex grey, then to fortress grey and finally skull white... Sorry about the poor quality of the pics. :( I don\'t have a digital camera and I used a scanner to take them. That is the reason that I haven\'t posted them on CMON, but hopefully in near future I\'ll get some better pics.

hey, i really luv the idea of this thread. It gives a very consolidated ways of painting skeleton.

So, if someone searches for skeleton, presto!, there\'s a whole list of the ways of doing it.

Great work guys and gals!

PS: How about another thread on painting orcs and gobbos, elves, dwarves, humans, babes, dragons, space marines, knights, wizards, babes, skavens, vampires, babes, halflings, wolfens, barbarians, wolves, babes, horses, babes, zombies, ghouls, babes, ....

my 2 cents

1) Prime white
2) Wash with: 1/3 Brown Ink 1/3 Yellow Ink 1/3 Water
3) Brush Ivory (Bleached Bone)
4) Same as 3
5) Brush Ivory + White

... well, it was just my 2 cents...

oh well...

Here goes my process...

Take in mind that this is the (painting an army process), on other models (for example a character with bone armour) I try to blend the colours together, nevertheless this process results in a very real-looking skellie (from my research I found that bones are always \"textured\" and brownish in colour - even the bleached ones).

-Prime white
-Brown ink diluted with water (1:1) all over
-Drybrush Bleached Bone carefully (two coats are necessary)
-Brown ink + Scorched Brown wash (1:2:2) only in the recesses
-Highlight with bleached bone
-now with BB + White (1:1)
-and finnaly pure white on some spots

Hope it helps

Cheers,
