How You get your avatar

This topic was inspired by the \"how you get your nick...\" thread. I know that some of the avatars go with the nick ( or the over way around ) But not for everyone. And since I\'m very curiouse ...
So I\'ll start with me, I am a big manga fan and one of my favorit mangas happens to be trigun, so my avatar is the trigun hero. And no I don\'t look like him at all

Always been a Peanuts fan since I was a kid . . and the only thing close to being a Flashman (more like Biggles) was the aviator capped WW1 flying ace . . .

I wouldn\'t mind switching both my name and my avatar but I think people are so indentified with them both that to switch them would just be weird . . .

Well, my avatar is very closely related to my nickname... Corvus is latin for raven and the beastie shown on my avatar picture is... yes, right, a raven

Mine is a section from a concept drawing I did a few months ago. Not too sure why I chose that particular image but I think it was probably the alluring smile

well, I wanted an animated avatar, and I wanted it to be unique, so, I cropped the pic of one of my minis, made an animated .GIF out of it, and that\'s pretty much it.

The hardest part was selecting the type of animation I wanted, since most human-looking minis do not lend themselves for animation the same way as monsters do.

I was looking for something that looked like me, but I didn\'t feel like being totally cheesy and using one of the many crappy photos I had of me (Does anyone else have the problem where every photo of them seems to be either bad, or have you with your eyes closed? ).. and as I\'m into japanese pop/rock (aka jpop) I did a google search for jpop avatars.. it sorta resembles me, besides all the heavy eye makeup :bouncy:

well, what I did was glued my hamster to the spot, get my camera ready, whack his nose pink and....

okie, my nick is the mouse but I don\'t keep mice as pets (although I did many years back and they decided to go to lala-land) and the closest relative to these guys will be the hamster (and they are still currently living with me - rent free loafers) and so, what the heck....hamster or mouse, who can tell the diff? lol

I chose my avatar from the \'cmon\' choices. I had always meant to change it when I got some decent photo\'s of my minis, but heck, now I kind of like it. I have always been a fan of \'the Far Side\' which is where that little fella comes from.

Ah, the good times I had guiding Gordon Freeman through an endless lethal labyrinth full of lightning-spitting aliens, murderous gun-toting marines and terrified colleagues (a metaphor for grad school?). I look a little like Gordon, and I\'m a scientist, so I figured it suits me.

Mine is just a stylized version of the Temperance Tarot card that I whipped up in photoshop one day. Since I\'m male, I didn\'t want to have the woman pouring the glasses as that might confuse people...

I was inspired by the iconic look of Bent Brush\'s icon.

I got mine from an anime picture shrine (had to shrink it a bit but it\'s the best depiction of a tigress \'neko that I could find).

I got the nickname \"Kittykat\", or \"Kat\" for short, from the fact that I played a Khan (a weretigress) in some werewolf games that we ran. But I liked being a tiger so much that even when I\'m not roleplaying I still have certain feline tendencies. (oh I\'m also a Leo as well!)


Anyway, when I got a yahoo account I chose the name Kittykat23uk (23 was my age and UK is where I am!).

Pretty obvious really...

Always been a Dilbert fan and I just needed a quick avatar when I signed up. Wally seemed an obvious choice from the CMON range. I am not too attached to him however, and may well be replacing him with a more sporting model shortly. Sorry Wal!:flip:
