In the sign of the raven...

Corvus is Latin for raven.

Why a raven? Because black is my favorite color and I am also always dressed in black...

Pretty boring really...

Finn was a favourite comic character of mine, a sort of hippy warlock with a big mean streak (if that isn\'t too much of a contradiction in character). When I tried to register it as my username on eBay several years ago I found that \'Finn\' was already taken as were Finn1 - 16. So I became Finn17:bouncy:

By the way mouse, your link doesn\'t work:duh:

My first ventures into the world of tabletop games came in the form of BattleTech. Gunji No Kanrei was a high rank in the army of my favorite faction, the japanese-influenced House Kurita.
Since I realy like the sound of it GunjiNoKanrei (or just Gunji) stuck

Hmm,
I do go on some other forums as Cousin Itt as well
but as for Lurch.....
As a teen I was a tall (6ft 2\" in seventh grade) and extremely skinny (145 pounds from 7th grade up well into my 30\'s)
I was also very quiet.
My real last name is Adams,
People in school just naturally startedc calling me Lurch.. and it kinda stuck.
In High school I hated it, but as I got older I actually accepted and now enjoy the nickname, almost as much as I enjoy the show.
In fact, I am now a SME ( subject matter expert) on the Addams Family in all genres.
I also have the highest rated web site on the Addams family, The Lurch Files.com in case anyone\'s interested.. :innocent:

Mine is pretty stupid really... We here in Spain (also in some places in South America, and possibly others) use our name plus two surnames (from your mum and dad, usually). Add a middle name to that, and you got my nick. Not too imaginative, but (1) it does sound weird (2) after using it in many forums, I simply don\'t feel like changing.

Otter

Kinda fell into mine by default... I used to play the original Diablo game and FSPs (first person shooters) under the name of \"Saint\". Then that Saint movie came out starring Val Kilmer and Saints crawled out of the woodwork faster than you could say Beatification. So to distinguish myself from the other Saints, I changed my name to Otter.

Why Otter? I have a pet ferret. \"Weasel\" and \"Ferret\" just have these weird and untrustworthy connotations to them, and \"Badger\" doesn\'t fit my personality. Plus, otters are cute and do nifty little things with their paws.

This also goes a bit of a ways towards explaining my sig, lifted from a Budweiser Super Bowl ad in the later \'90s.

- Otter
\"Never send a ferret to do a weasel\'s work.\"

I\'ts from my actual name. I am Christopher Peter Swan. One day I was filling out a form that asked what I\'d want to be called, my middle intital and last anem, and I put in Chris P. Swan.... then I realised it sounds like a rare Chinese dish, so I just go with Chrispy.

The only problem now is I hear my name in Cereal and Candy bar Commericals all the time...:p

whats in a name?

AHA! I am glad you asked....

Back in 800 AD, when I was stationed on the terrible Viking Ship with Leif Erickson and Eric the Red. I single handedly stopped an invasion from the Normans with only a toothpick and one of those horned hats. So, since then....

Actually the true origin is a little more mundane. Ok, a LOT more mundane.

I am a fan of the Minnesota Vikings (american Football to all you non-sports types)

Several years ago, I was trying to make a username for E-bay and viola. All the things like \'vikefan\' or \'govikings\' were taken, so I typed in Supervike. It worked, and now I use it as my \'online\' moniker. That is that.

I liked the first story better, so I am sticking with it.

Well, my final high school year... I\'m in a class of 6 and my real name is Filip Tubbax. Another guy in the class is called philip. In a class of 6, this can be quite annoying, so they decide to call me Tuub, from my last name, it stuck and I used a version of the nick where I am smaller, don\'t know the english word for such a word.
egads this is difficult, so english say \"a little tree\", we in dutch say \"tree\'tje\". The \'tje is there to identify something small. get it? no? never mind :)

Well, my nickname (Yeah, it\'s stupid, I know) started one day when I thought of the words Mutant Potato. I combined them and it became MUTATO! My brother laughed his head off and I started using it in forums and videogames. Now I realise it\'s a stupid nickname, but it stuck. :)

That\'s wierd, I always assumed the name came from that X-files episode where that mutant with two heads is called The Great Mutato...

By a screw up. On the side I do a little iron working, and was doing some work while a friend of mine set up a yahoo account for me. Well, over the sound of the hammer hitting the steel, things got reversed and cult of steel became steel cult which became steelcult.
lol
