Very nicely done!

I particularly like the huntress\' hair and eyes. The dogs are well done (nice touch with the gloss in the mouth), and the skintone is solid. It may be the pic being a bit washed out, but maybe another layer of highlight on the flesh would make her really stand out.

Great stuff!

You have an interesting style, I can see your traditional canvas art showing through in your minis, there\'s less exaggeration of highlights, and NMM comes pretty naturally. Very nice mini!

Thank you..

Valander and DennisMech(James): The photo is a bit fuzzy and washed out. My photograghy skills departed when I moved from NM to Ohio. I\'m not certain what I\'m doing wrong, but it\'s not the fault of the camera.(5-mega pixels, Kodak) and it was expensive. I think the problem happens when I re-size the pics for posting, but now I have to read the manual to see what I\'m doing wrong? When one refers to \'Resolution\' in pixels/inch, is a higher number better? Mine is set at 72, is that enough? I seem to lose sharpness and clarity, thus making the end result fuzzy. I do wish I knew what I was doing wrong so I could fix it! It\'s very frustrating!
Thanks again,

Faye

Actually, the 72 pixels/inch is a little low. Try setting that to 96 or so, and you may get some better results.

And I\'m totally jealous of that camera! I only have a crappy (well, actually pretty good for its level) Sony FD70 that is only 640x480 (that\'s less than 1MP). :(

There\'s also some really fine articles in the Articles section here that cover how to take photos. They really helped me!

Thanks for the tips, Valander, I will try anything to get a clearer picture and I\'m starting with the resolution.

P.S. I didn\'t use any gloss...the highlights in the dog\'s mouth were painted on. I do shine a light directly on freshly(wet) painted areas, to see where sharp highlights would normally go! Trick-of-the-trade!
:D;)

Thank you all!!

dauber22: I am actually blushing right now, in the privacy of my own bedroom;:innocent:....which, serves a duo purpose at the moment. I just came in from work and it\'s snowing again with freezing ice....I felt chilled to the bone and now I am totally warm and fuzzy all over!
Thanks,
Faye
P.S. The photos on ebay show the highlights much better than here because the pics are larger.

Oi! I\'ll have you know that I\'ve been shown to be right over 6 times now! Well, actually, I haven\'t, which brings me back down to 0...

That\'s a great trick to do glossy surfaces! I\'m going to try using that, as painting gloss varnish on looks cheesy.

Ah, shucks guys...

...you got me blushing again! You\'d think at my age that sort of thing wouldn\'t happen anymore...WRONG!

I have another really cool piece that I\'m just finishing up on. Tried another technique for painting marble. I love the way it came out; but now I have to stop painting to work on my sculpting....wish me luck..I\'m in unforged territory and not certain where it will lead?? ???
