Hi folks,

Been away fro a while due to a bad bout of adult chickenpox which hospitalised me for 2 weeks and meant I wasn't much use for the last 1/4 of 2014.

I have been availed of father nurgles teachings and can move on, happy in the knowledge I have a new pestilence forever living within me, blessed be!

Anyway, I thought I would raise my (now non poxed) head above the parapet and see whats going on.

Still looking at Salute but budgeting a flight and\or train is getting expensive, at £170 minimum for either. then hotels and the inevitable sale stands (at least the plane limits luggage!

Hope you are all fine, and hope to chat to some of you again as its been a while.

All the best and Happy New Year!

Just costed national express for you..12 hour journey each way roughly £85 return ( provided I read that correctly.)
Then to find B&B on top of that.

You could try Megabus. Not as glam as National Express and a wee bit long (12h 55mins) but cheaper. You can book 3 months in advance and the return is £26.00 atm

Hi folks, glad to find all well.

Yeah busing to London from Aberdeen.....no, id go mad, and besides having cronh's disease makes it a bit of a stress non starter.

Ill see, as its like £255 for the train return!! even cheap singles is £140 each way!!

Flight is doable and cheapest but I have to pay now, which would be expensive in a 6 week month of Jan.

Il have a think, I may delay my first salute as the pox knocked my calendar of a lot so only giving myself 2 months to do an entry or 2 from scratch. I may put all my effort into Golden Demon as a mate wants to enter with me this year, then grab a cheeky second trip to Euro at same time.

April is very busy as with GF's family on a holiday in the lake district so time to paint will be zero in the build up to salute, so basically will have feb and march...

Also have 3k of dark elves, 2.5 k of elder, 1.5k of blood angels and a 1k bolt action german heer army to paint....nothing like a backlog!

I took a bug last year, he didn't place (Badum-tish)

Yeah but thinking I may put my efforts into Euro and GD this year, as oddly getting to Folkestone is Simpler than to London, then the docklands!

After all that, I just got asked to do a full commission on a Cryx (Warmachine) colossal.

Happy days, always wanted to make some large warmachine stuff, now I get to do it without it joining the dust collecting hordes on my shelf :)

Well that may be my salute decision made for me, all hotels in the area that aren't miles away are over £400 for 2 nights!! I realise its an event but 3 times the normal price is robbery.

It usually falls on the same weekend as the London Marathon so that might be a reason for the stupid prices.
