I AM scratch building a thunderhawk

Wish me luck as its the biggest, scariest (only) project iv ever done..... Iv been here on cmon a bit now and how uber helpful everyone is, so with all of your help im sure il make it.

So, no pics today.

I picked up following today

Hi density foam
set square, ruler, metre stick. (gd old metal one i pinched in 5th year of school
:eek::eek:

I had a play around with the foam, and the only thing i cant work out is \'\'how the hell do you glue it\'\'. I tried plastic and superglue and it melted it. Surly not PVA works. HELP

Cheers

MoF:drunk:

Its funny how its the simplest things in life!?

So iv went with your idea of a foam core, so i then just layer up plasticard over the foam to give a basic hull and extra strentgh?

PVA is the absolutely best glue there is for that kind of foam. ^^
aye

build up the shape, bear in mind as you add layers, it will get bigger. so the core will have to be slightly smaller than you want it to be, it\'s easy to add stuff, but awkward to cut back

also there are plans here
a wip here and here and here

star wars pod racer engines would do for thunderhawk wing mounted thrusters, what about going retro and doing the pre heresy stormbird,\" if your\'re gonna be a bear be a grizzly\"lol

Ok small update but no pics just yet. I cut the main body template today. I now have to smooth everything. Its all positive so far:D Waiting 6 to 9 days for plasticard....

@cassar: i hate and love you, pod racer engines would be perfect, if any one has any spare pm me. Stormbird would be awesome and if this turns out well i promise il do one! (are kodiak bears not better than grisly ones?)

i think the grizzly might have a weight advantage but dont quote me on it. to give chrome his due (and to stop him hex\'in me with his wolf fetish) the biggest bears the polar bear as far as im aware, do they get as far as sweden?. try the trading post forum for the engines you never know:lol

They have the aggression advantage as well.
As a recent Discovery Channel documentary showed several Polars bears running away from a carcase when one Grizzly approached in threatening manner. Very interesting program found out that Grizzly\'s can mate with Polars. Usually the Grizzly Male pursues a Female Polar and dominates her due to his aggressive tendancies.

OFF TOPIC

@ dragonsreach
does that mean the offspring would be sterile? like when horses and donkeys mate?

ON TOPIC

Smoothed out the foam. Will get pics soon. Promise

aye depending onthe sex of each, its either a grolar or a pizzly! sounds rediculous but is true. apparently, they have only found one pizzly (that was shot). yeah the offspring are sterile
