That was a big fish. But I wouldn\'t like to be pulled along a boat with a big hook jammed under my jaw :(

Well, he wouldn\'t come in if you invited him.

ive seen these before... theres some other kind of fish fairly large also altho not as big. they live in rivers (usualy about waist deep) ive seen (not personaly) people wade out and go fishing for em using their hands. theyl\'l herd it and corner it then theyl\'l catch it by simply grabing it or bear hugging it and pulling it out of the water.. pretty neat. as i said i cant remember the fish\'s name or the fishing method but its neat to see. the fish kinna looks like an over grown catfish \\ carp.

Were you, Steelcult, and I in the chat area talking about this? Actually, Steelcult and you were teaching me about these fish.

Wolfie, Needle-Nose Gar & Gator Gar got teeth. Think barracuda or northern pike.

What you are probably thinking of is \'noodling\' for catfish. Reach up into a hole in the river bank and pull out a big ol\' catfish. Pure redneck sport involving lots of beer.

Actually, I catch Gar all the time of my dad\'s boat. We catch them on metal leaders. They give an extremely good fight and we just release them back out. My pops once caught a 44 pound striped bass, he just let it go and everyone always tells him to eat what he catches, but that prevents the fish from getting bigger and breaking a record or giving you a good fight.

Largest Garr I\'ve ever seen:

Not sure if a variation of noodling was used to land this one or not, or if there was any involvement of metal leaders. Looks like she\'d put up a pretty good fight though.
:duh:
