???..Am I the only \"one\" who doesn\'t lick :p their paint brush\" and as for getting a nice point , I twirl the end of the brush in the paint as I load up:flip:

I don\'t so it either. I see no reason to do it, really, I get a nice point by dragging my brush gently across my pallet/paper towel and cleaning it thoroughly once a week.

I, too, am not abrush licker. I\'m with Mosch. A simple, gentle pull across my paint rag points things right up.

NOw, as to DR\'s other point... :p

I am weird too!

I don\'t lick my bruses. Want to know why?

Because normally I have a roll-up hanging out of my mouth! Although for those looking to give up just try eating lolly-pops when you paint. That way theres no room in your mouth for the brush!

P.S. I do not advocate smoking! It is not a nice habit! (sound familiar?)

I think that\'s not suposed to be good for the brush. Can\'t remeber were i read that though. Maybe the brush selection and care article.

Only if the paints thick and you are rough with the action will this harm the brush hairs, its the technique I use. As long as the paint\'s thinned it seems ok, oh and sometimes I use a wet sponge or kitchen paper to form the point again.

I\'ve licked my brush for years, I also use my fingernails to get rid of excess paint. Everyone at work also thinks I wear nail polish after I have had an undercoating session.

I actually used my left thumbnail for mixing paint on when I was younger. I now have proper equipment for that. :D I still wipe excess paint on my fingers, though...

I never even considered brush licking until I stumbled across it here in the forums....

Just say no.

Yeah, everyone knows that brush licking is a gateway drug. The next thing you know, you\'ll be on the streets behind art studios, dumpster diving for used brushes just to get a fix. You might even get into oil based paints, or, heaven forbid, designer drugs like airbrushes or enamels.

I for one choose to abstain.

I\'ve been licking my brush for as long as i can remember. I think thats part of the reason i\'m trying out NMM, metallics taste foul.

My left thumb often gets used to wipe of excess paint, it\'s currently green/grey/khaki coloured... ???
