I did it, I did it, I did it!!!!

Yup ... I took the plunge, and after two years, actually posted a couple of new miniatures. Yay me!

(laughing)

Well, as you all know by now, I\'ve picked up painting again after a twelve year hiatus and then a two year hiatus (moving, new job .. etc) and I\'ve been back on the forums and into painting for about a month or so now.

Well, here are my latest two that I haven\'t sent to the pinsol tank. I\'m quite pleased with them though I know they aren\'t up to the standards of many.

That being said, toss in the numbers below if you would and feel free to vote and leave a comment or critique if it suits you (gotta figure out how to link those .. )

Thanks for looking!

wouldn\'t that make it just a 14 year hiatus?

Serious, glad you\'re back painting, nice work on both of these (I\'ll go vote now) and your bases are already way better than mine are.

Look forward to seeing more posts from you.

It\'s nice to see some results from all your curious inquiries here on the forums! ;)

I think you have done really well on these minis! I voted and commented on both.

Now I just need to get rid of the image of the ghoul king\'s swelling butt crack from my mind.:|~:|~:|~ lol

Cheers,
Anders

That \'fat bloke\' is great! Utterly Lard-tabulous! I particularly like his cellulitey arse!!

Thanks everyone for the comments and for taking the time to vote. I kept checking in last night like a proud father with a kid on display (alright, so neither of them really look like me, blame the milk man!).

@ Eric

Thanks for the compliments but I checked your portfolio and lets just say I\'m drooling over your witch hunters. I\'ve got a whole a load of Inquisitors and Sisters of Battle that I plan on painting up (originally why I got into this again) but I\'m rather intimidated by them of late for some reason. Mind sending along your color recipes on your flamer fellow? Think that is where I will start.

@ Everyone else

Thanks. What\'s even more disturbing is painting the fat blokes butt. I tell ya .. his wee willies are indeed hinted at on the miniature (shiver).

Hi FF, I sure will let you know, once I get home from work I\'ll pm you. I just don\'t want to go from memory and tell you all the wrong colors. (I\'ve a very visual oriented memory rather than verbal, so I remember color tones much better than names. So I need to look at the paint bottles to remember!)

FF, you have inspired me. I\'m going to do my darnedest to post something this weekend. I don\'t have the excuse of having been on painting hiatus. ;)

I noticed your comment re the knights about having trouble with wood tones. I have a trick I use for that. I paint my minis with craft paints. I often use a color called Moccasin Brown - I think it\'s from Alene\'s brand - because it is very thin. For wood I just do a couple of coats so it\'s sort of streaky. Then, if I want it to look like planks, I draw in some lines using a Pigma Micron pen. Sometimes I do a light wash of WN Peat Brown ink as well. It\'s fairly quick and dirty and I like the effect. Hope this helps. :)

Nice. I like the ghoulie best of the two, but they\'re both nice work. Comments posted on the minis\' pages.

FF, I seem to be having issues sending the PM I promised, I apologize, once I figure it out I\'ll get it to you!

@ Sniffles ..

That\'s first - I inspire someone. Name your next kid after me!

:D

Thanks for the tip on the wood, I\'ll have a try at that.

@ Eric

No worries, take all the time you want ...you\'ve got until 9am my time tomorrow before I start painting and your ears start ringing.

:D
