haha, ok, so there were only 50 of these ever made, and now 2 show up within a few days of each other on cmon...what are the chances!!

Anyway, she was a ton of fun to paint. I actually did her about 9 months ago, and just never really finished her. But I finished her up quickly while at gencon, so here she is! I was particularly happy with the eyes, after I did them, I always felt like she was watching me as I painted the rest.

Hehe, pretty good I\'d say. This is CMON after all. The laws of probability do not work the same here...

Great mini, a little cuter than something I might paint, but that\'s just me...

haha, yeah, it was a bit cuter than my normal subject matter also, but hey, got to change it up sometimes right?!

Great work Eric! :D Totally impressed with the eyes.. how large is the sculpt?

I sort of agree that the freckles stand out a bit.. but your style is exaggerating things a bit, and therefor it works very well. The only thing I\'m not quite sure of is the painting of her hat. It seems like the border of red could decide wether to be a line or a fade.. All in all lovely work and full of character.

Nothing cute about that huh???

@Eric! Lovely job. She is adorable. While Orctraders excelled for its \'comic book\' look, yours has a realism about it that is very charming.

Way to go!

NICE SCULPT TOO!

Haha, I figured this one would get mixed reviews, as there is so much which isn\'t \"normal\" about it and is perhaps even....cute! Thanks for the nice replies :)

The base was actually funny. I showed up at Gencon with a piece for the Privateer press contest, but I hadn\'t finished what I wanted to for the main Gencon contest, but I wanted to make sure to support both, so I brought mabel along just in case. Well I decided to finish her up and enter her a few hours before the entry deadline so I realized I needed a base to put her on and I had none of my normal supplies with me to make something, so I figured I\'d go freehand. Did the base in the wyrd booth in about an hour I think, and am rather happy with how it turned out, lol. She didn\'t win anything, and I didn\'t figure she would, but the whole process of getting her done, from start to finish, was a lot of fun.

It\'s a lovely stroke of painting genius again. Is it true though that you paint your bases because you\'re no good at using sand? ??? :D

Well, acually, I did first do a fully painted freehand base because I couldn\'t sculpt the base I wanted. If you remember the dark maiden, I wanted a water effect on the base, and after about 5 tries at using green stuff for it, I settled on trying the reflection effect! lol. Since then I\'ve just really liked the fully painted freehand base because it is different, and you don\'t see it a lot. I\'m just sort of bored with every damn base being half the height (or more) of the mini, and being this huge sculpted thing.

That and for this one, at gencon, I just didn\'t have any basing supplies ;)
