Oh, sorry. First time around the top pic didn\'t load so I thought those were his forarms.

A guy recently joined our local paint group and when we started painting he said with honest surprise: \"you mean brushes come smaller than 1?\"

From what I can see (squinting) the miniature looks okay. But, as many others have said to me, the camera work is Killing your ratings.

Try to put it a bit more in focus.

good work though. :)

I use a brush just like that for applying glue to 1/6 scale figure bases! Or is it the one I use to brush cat hair off of my minis? ???

but seriously...

It looks like you need some color correction. The yellow light is killing you.

I have a hard time voting on greens. I am so conditioned to voting on paint jobs that greens throw me.

Try not putting so many pics in. Less is more. Only one wide so you can maximize the details. Two or 3 deep if you really think the other angle helps the score.

I went back and looked at your gallery. I had given a couple of 8\'s out. So you are just almost there.

i actually started this just to for a laugh because i had a testors brush laying around... but now i\'m started to think i should repost some of my minis. And these pics are yellow because the walls in my room are orange and i just snapped these real quick for the joke. Are my submission minis yellow too???

The sad thing is that I can\'t get my minis over 7 either... :(

After seeing this I decided to stop using my wife\'s mascara applicator to paint my minis though. Thanks for the tip! ;) lollol

Hi Itchy

I suffered from not so great photo\'s so i can empathise with you - But i spent some time learning how to fix them. I dont use photshop - i use photimpact but the theory is the same.

Yes - i think your pics are too yellow, but alos a little dark and out of focus.

See below...

What i\'ve done here is :

1) sharpened the focus a little (although thats much more effective to do with the camera than afterwards)

2) brightened the pic quite a bit.

3) changed the colour balance towards cyan and away from the warm yellow

4) replaced the background with the blue gradient

hope that shows the difference between the two pics.

be warned though when i ddi this on my own pics, my score went down!!! I think sometimes better pics show the \'problem areas\' better...:-(

Wowzas Brandlin! Your photos look MUCH more professional than mine. i never knew my minis could look that good.

i use Gimp2.0 for my \"PhotoShop\" tool. i could brightened, and do color balance. Does anybody know how to use the gradient tool is in Gimp? Next mini i photograph i\'m going to try this on. Thanks:)

Nevermind... figured it out

No problem Itchy - glad to be of help!

It was like a revelation to me when i sorted out my own photo\'s... now just watch as your scores plummet because now everyone can see your imperfections!!

:)
