This is a model I\'m painting for a local painting compo that ends the 31st of March. Theme is monster/big model, vehicle or unit (only one prize though). Obviously I went for the big model part and I like it very much. It\'s nice to have something big to paint once in a while, because painting about a hundred tiny WE can drive anyone crazy.

Comments would be much appreciated. :)

PS: Sorry for the crappy pics.

Looks good so far... as I can see from the crappy pics, a close up on the face and boots would be nice... we could go from there. The base looks good to me, a wee bit brighter colour on the divisions would not hurt it though.

Looks like a decent start to the pics, but they are pretty fuzzy looking. I\'ll look forward to seeing more progress shots, I love this mini :) The booster pack has some nice variant pieces as well... I have no idea how I\'ve managed to avoid painting mine, I\'ve had it for at least a couple years now.

Good start.

Maybe place something more on the base. A small stone maybe, there is spot that is quite empty (opposite side where mini will stand)

Yeah, it\'s a very nice mini. And what\'s even nicer is the fact that I got it for about 24 Cloaked WE heads. :D NO booster pack though. :(

Krause: Yes, that spot does look a bit empty. I\'ll see what I can do about that. :D

I know the pics are crappy, but it has nothing to do with my photographic skills. It\'s just that stupid Paint that ruins them when I glue them together. :(

Anyway, the face in that pic is just basecoated. I\'ve finished it now and have started on the inner cloak (not the loin cloth.) which will be red (not to bright though).

Thanks for the comments. :D I\'ll get a pic of the progress on wednesday. :)

Cheers, Slekke

I\'m trying to remember how the arms are posed on the non-booster figure. He\'s holding the rifle I think, but is it cradled in both hands, hanging at his side, or what?

Depending on the gun arm, I\'d consider moving the model on the base, he\'s hanging pretty far on the back side.

Positioning Inquisitor figs on 40mm bases is tough business if they\'re only partially assembled, I\'ve done about 15+ of the things so I know from experience how it just doesn\'t quite fit right once in a while!

Update:
Quite happy with how the red turned out, although the blends could be a lot smoother. Got a close up of the face as requested. It\'s not finished though. Still needs the eye and mouth painted.

@ Jericho: The rifle is tied to his back with his backpack. He\'s holding a power sword, pointing in the direction he\'s watching. Once the arms will be glued on, I think it will be balanced nicely.

About the blank space on the left of the base. I\'m thinking about adding a small puddle of blood, to insinuate a massacre having taken place just inches outside the edge of the base and the Ranger acting cool as if nothing happens. (Ok, this sounds bad if formulated this way, but i hope to get the message across.)

C&C would be appreciated.

Cheers, Slekke

Edit: Any advice on what colour to paint the loin cloth? The cloak is going to be black, but I can\'t figure out what to combine with black and red. :(
