I got a bid and it\'s all your fault

Congrats

Nice...I\'m glad to see you selling...It\'s a bittersweet moment actually though, the triumph of selling your art...the agony of realizing you probably only got paid less than minimum wage for all of your troubles. Alas, it really is a labor of love. Killer Dragon BTW, great concept. I remember a Water Dragon you had painted a few months back that I had commented on and you repainted it based on my comments and it turned out great. Remember that one? I still do.

P.S. I just started selling on ebay, and I was wondering if you had time you could answer a couple questions for me, I really liked your presentation and was wondering if you could give me a couple pointers...I\'d be really grateful if you could, just send a message to me and I\'ll ask, don\'t want to derail this thread. Thanks in advance, if not, then congrats anyway.

Cheers

Well done.
The dragon is very nice too, dramatic.:D

Im getting into ebay very slowly (sold 1 up to now).Saw rolljordans Celestine up for $375 approx. He left a comment on mine saying he though it was better than his,I thought get it on ebay quick Im a rich man. Then I thought no maybe not,his 375 will turn into my 3.75.:D

Keep it up.I think it has a lot to do with reputation as well as kick ass painting.

I have sent you info to get a hold of me and commented on your mini as well. your wiz is the bomb I love the composition.

You should amaze yourself Klute. I believe you would fair quite well with your beauty. Selling is very unnerving though I should warn you many bids are at the last day and the last minute. The water dragon referred above sold in the last 20 seconds of the auction. The fire dragon did better the second time I listed than others I have sold each auction is its own adventure.
As long as I enjoy the painting process. Yes, profit is important but not always the most important. Anyways often the hours spent could not be replaced by money. I am a human shark and this hobby allows me to stop and enjoy a bit. PricelessText

I don\'t really care what this post is about & I didn\'t really read it. I stopped when I saw the picture of Strongbad to watch those episodes. Strongbad rocks.

I think its good practice not to expect too much when you first start out.The one I sold was an old Boneripper rat ogre and it went for $9.Not enough to cover the mini.It was gathering dust from eons ago though so I wasnt too fussed,I expect to take a nock before making a profit.I will never expect to make what I think my minis are worth no matter how much they sell for,I think we all have pride like that,so I would prefer to sell minis that Ive painted specifically for that reason.
BTW thanks for the nice words.:D

Congratulations... I\'m about to try selling some of my miniatures on Ebay too and it\'s nice to see someone happy to his auctions.

Klute:
your Celestine (and all other miniatures) iis amazing and I\'m sure she will sell well on Ebay but consider that you need some time to get a \"name\".
Known painters usually have highter bids.

Paolo,,thank you.Getting a name is the thing I consider the biggest factor in getting a good price for minis on ebay. That is why I think I would only paint to a certain level for sales as apposed to showcase stuff here for cred.Im going to try and steadily build a rep with the sales and as prices go up take the standard up.If you know what I mean.:D
