California King Snake.
He has been in a 14 Gallon tank for the last year because that was how I inherited him.
I just bought a 40 gallon tank, Waterfall, "Nest" and mat, heating pad, and log half for him and moved him from the den, into my room.

California King Snakes are protected here and you can't own one taken from the wild ... liz will have to tell you about the one her son had

He ate live fuzzies when he was smaller, but now he's on to adults, so I get him frozen ones, but we're gonna try a small rat tomorrow, since he's only supposed to eat once or twice a week, but he eats every other day.
So hopefully he'll go for that.
It's so cool watching hm eat...LOL.

I cant deal with snakes, they dont bother me as such i can watch tv shows and stuff even hold them but my friends ball python struck me a while back and i panicked at the sheer speed the lil bugger moved. It didnt let go and my adrenaline was pumping and i pulled him off my hand.

There was a good bit of blood, i didnt know its teeth curved back! Felt bad as i prob hurt the lil guy.

At least he is in a bigger enclosure now.

Your snake has a nice colouring.

The waterfall was for MY convenience. It circulates the water so I don't have to keep changing the dish...LOL.

I though as much. Have one for the cat, the only problem is that when my sisters dogs come over the water level goes down to the level of 'burn the pump out'.

My g/f won't touch it, she still thinks it's "slimy".
But she's the one that convinced me to get the "Nest" and waterfall for it...LOL.
She's such a mom.....

LOL, yeah, turns out he's a ham as well!
I took several pictures and he comes to the glass to say cheese....only other time he does that is when he's hungry....LOL.

I had a roommate that didn't pay the rent and hung around with no clothes on, he stayed for a good 6 months until he got pissed one night and went looking in my wardrobe when I was out and drank a 2 litre bottle of coke/urine I had safely hidden away from those late night "I cant be arsed walking down to the toilet" episodes.

After that he was no longer my flatmate. Cool snake though.
