I hate assembling!

Yes, that\'s just so true! I don\'t like assembling models, unless it includes a conversion of some sort. It just seems such a waist of time! Every time I put a model together, I simply can\'t wait to finish this time-consuming process and start painting. Anyone feeling the same?

;):D Sorry buddy, I am no help there- putting them together is one of my favorite things. Thinking of new ways to make each one a little different. Then maybe its the glue talking:bouncy:

I agree with Margo, assembling them is a pain in the arse and de flashing them is even worse. I just want to paint them!

I only hate it when the parts fit poorly. Otherwise, I kinda like it!:D

Now mold lines... that\'s a pain! Sometimes I\'ve been sitting at work all day thinking about painting a particular mini and when I finally get home and sit down at my desk I end up spending the whole evening removing mold lines instead of painting.

It depends...minis that can be assembled in different positions are pretty fun to assemble, but for example high elf spearmen that come in five or six parts but still has to look almost exactly the same to rank up, that\'s just so boring!

yep, exactly. when the assembling requires some creativity, it\'s interesting and it\'s fun. but when it\'s just simple, mundane glue-it job, it\'s really boring ...

I don\'t really mind the assembling bit, with one exception, when the fit is atrocious.
I\'ve had several figures latley that have had either terrible Fit, Huge Gaps or deformed moulding that have all required \"greenstuffing\" to built up.
Sadly they all seem to have come from the same manufacturer in Nottingham.

Once the repair/work is done and you feel great about it, what happens you have to paint over it. lol
How many of us take Work In Progress Pics?

I actually kinf od like it. It\'s during assemble that I usually get all my ideas about base and color scheme. Or I just paint the model in my mind will removing the mold line. I like to be able to get a \'feel\' for the model befor painting it. (what do you mean I\'m weird !!;))

WIP pics? That\'d just be yet another waste of time when all I want is to prime and paint it! :) Although I have a few WIPs of my Pegasus Knights conversions, but that was a conversion which for me is quite a different task compared to a simple assembling.

I find that I have different moods. There are times when I do not feel like painting:eek:. It is at times like this that I do converting or assembly. The only prblem is the more assembled and primered minis you have the harder it becomes to start painting againlol

Assembling is fun! Trying to stick an arm or leg onto a miniscule peice of metal, while one hand is glued to the table and the other is in the process of being glued to the mini.

Sometimes you slip and the mini looks like it had a broken limb, sometimes you accidentally get peices mixed up, and when it\'s all done you find out you are terrible with greenstuff...

Yesseriee, assembling sure is fun, and productive. lol

I like assembling and converting plastic kits, but I hate assembling pewter minis because of the mold lines and my damn glue, it\'s good, but I have to clean the nozzle 1 second after application with thin wire and stuff. If I don\'t I have to drill through dried glue in the nozzle, not fun.

I\'ve been a scale modeller since I was since so assembly comes natural to me. :D Still, I know others who hate it. By the way, I\'d probably get bored when assembling a legion of plastic figures too. Also because I know that with the second figure I\'m already thinking how to change it. :)

When sculpting I like the possiblility of doing something multi-part as that allows me to use poses and add details that would otherwise not be possible.

I too, am no great lover of the assembly production line. I once painted 60 skaven in one go.
Putting the first five together was fun, after that...bleh!

As I detest mould lines I had to file them all down, and as they were those new plastic regiments that amounted to 60 heads, 60 left arms, 60 right arms etc, etc, etc.

I thought I was alone...

Actually plastic minis arn\'t so bad (assembly wise)

I constantly struggle with the metal ones. Should I pin or not? Once I do pin, it never fits right. Invariable I have to reglue parts that fall off (due to my clumsiness of knocking them over)...

I think part of the reason I haven\'t started on some of my more fiddly minis is that I am dreading actually having to put them together.

Boring plastic units of 20 models... Hours removing mould lines and ranking up. Aaargh! I\'d have to agree with DR about the poxy fit of some multi-part metal minis by a certain manufacturer.....
