I have no idea...

What cameras can I get cheap that will be good for close-ups on minis? Does anyone have any idea? My sister has a cheap one but it\'s rubbish on close-ups. I have done a similar thread, but know I am actually contemplating getting one and getting out of my painters block.

once again, Mick, how much can you afford? If you give us a rough figure....£50 £100 £150 etc, we can give you an idea of what might be suitable

The Canon powershot A series is probably one of the compact cameras with the best macro function. you should be able to pick up the A610 fairly cheaply as I think there are 1 or two newer models that have come out.

I use a Canon Powershot A610.

Some examples of the Macro pics I have taken with it are here and here

But the A510 is pretty good camera for what you want and it should be reasonable. I don\'t know what the cost should be now.

this one was taken with the A95. Another nice camera.

They\'re not mini\'s, but they should give you a nice indication of what the camera is capable of.

The other way to do it is to find your local camera shop or camera club, and find out if they have any second hand cameras.

Generallly these will be in quite good condition.

edit: Also have a look on Ebay. you should be able to find a couple of good deals there.

Not bad, eh?

Well get it then! :D Under your 80.00 amount, has a macro, self timer, can adjust for light conditions and increase/decrease exposure.
