I’m fine. I know the newspapers and such have it sounding like there is a lot of tension here. But we are fine here in South Korea. And the other CMONer (Gnome) left Korea Saturday. My biggest regret is that we were in the same country, and at times the same city, and never met face to face. But he did meet a nice Canadian girl here. So maybe I will see him on the other side of the pond.

Oh and by the way. I hear the media is reporting there was some shooting across the DMZ. This happens sometimes but it’s nothing to worry about. And it is never fatal.

Ok. Carry on. Nothing to see here.:D

Did two tours in the ROK and I can attest to the fact that this stuff is at least a weekly occurrence. We had helicopters go down in the Z. Mini-sub incursions constantly. Captured NK spies, constant alerts. But we in the West have trained this clown (KJI) to believe when he makes noise we reward him with fuel oil, money, rice etc.

No.His girlfriend is Canadian. She is from Alberta. If you are from the States, its not that far. Canadian women are great!!!

It’s funny. There were 158+ views of this post saying that there are two CMONers in South Korea and that they are ok. Only eight people took the time to say, “glad you are ok\" or something to that extent.

Maybe people would have been more talkative if I said the North Korean scientist had just graduated college, GW had given North Koreans the cash to make the bomb, and that the bombs had breast.lol

Anyway...back to my studies.

This makes me think...

I\'m pretty sure there are at least one or two countries we don\'t have military stationed in.

No?

Sorry, my bad. I thought there was perhaps some small tiny island nation we may have overlooked; if so, send us your location and we will be happy to build a base in YOUR backyard. Then all will be right in the world again.

At least that is what the Republicans tell me, and politicians NEVER lie..

No offense intended toward any servicemen (or women) out there, its just that EB\'s comment makes me wonder just how much the spin doctors feed us. After all, THEY imply that Korea is getting ready to attack us at any minute, and then EB says everything is calm over there. I think an educated and enlightened internet using population will be the downfall of the kind of propaganda we were fed during the cold war.

Enlightenment AND porn?!

YAY INTERNET!!! :flip:

{Oh yeah... and wonderful mini forums};)

EDIT: Oh, and Buddha, glad you guys are okay. :)

Fair enough. But she wants to stay in Korea. I am the one who wants to go. So I figure I will look for work somewhere near by and see how that works out.

Other than that. the problems we had are settled. Ther is harmany in the house hold.

Umm actually MT the worst propoganda in this case is coming from the NK\'s and from what I can see, the western media is doing nothing more than passing on the comments the NK\'s have made - including a threat by one of their ministers to fire a nuclear missile at the US.

It\'s one thing to have Nuclear capabilities, it\'s quite another to produce a reliable delivery system.

Just ask the Russians, I believe the old estimate for their militery equipment\'s failure rate was somewhere around 80%! What that means is that only one out of five would find their targets.

I don\'t think too many nations out there would risk a nuclear exchange, no matter how insane their ruler. It would take an awful lot of warheads to decimate North America, when we would only have to land half a dozen to commit genocide on their asses.

I would be much more worried about them selling one to terrorists and driving it into one of our cities in the back of a van.

I hope you don\'t think I don\'t love you guys in the field, quite the contrary. I would like nothing more then to see you all home safe where you belong, and that is why I find this never-ending quest for more enemies so frustrating.

I have four sons, and I\'ll be damned if they meet their maker face down in some God forsaken field somewhere because my Gov\'t thought a pre-emptive strike against possible hostility was justified.

Hell MT - disagreement is what makes life interesting.

I was just pointing out that in this case, the USG is not the one having to paint the \"Bad Guys\" as the bad guys - they are doing a wonderful job of it on their own.

Generally these nations don\'t want us to go because of the loss of revenue if a US base shuts down. In addition, we pay for the use of these nations\' real estate, when more often than not we were originally there to help them.

BTW I wouldn\'t be so quick to credit Kim Jr. with a lot of rational thought. I was in ROK during his daddy\'s reign and for the first year of his. IMO He is much less stable than pops was.
