I just spent 17 bucks on this mini and now I am destroying it!

Except some of you more experienced types would call it \"converting\"!

:D

Seriously though, I haven\'t tried my hand at converting a mini for ages--since I was fourteen and had a set of those first run plastic space marines. Of course, converting a figure then, to me, was gluing some extra bits on, or chopping a little part or two off and then adding some extra bit on. I guess it might not be much more complicated than that these days at base...

Anyway, I bought this chaos terminator, and now I am converting it to a nurgle terminator, and I must admit I am both excited and terrified. Does anyone else feel this way about converting? I mean, it\'s cool to be messing around with the look of the sculpt, but at the same time, I don\'t want to end up destroying what was a perfectly good mini! Well, like I said, it\'s my first go at a conversion since I started painting again last year--wish me luck and send your blessings!

Thanks.

I think the only time I felt I was going too far is when I tried to make my chaos troll\'s weapon bigger by smacking it with a hammer... which just made it look like I had hit it with a hammer.. :p

i know what you mean but...

conversions are the one thing i can do right and the funny thing is, i just took on my first Chaos mod and it\'s Nurgle! Well, it\'s a \"Chaos Icon bearer\" but it looks pretty nurgle-ish to me.

After the dremel hit it;

Green clean up and weapons yet to come... the icon pole will become the handle for a syth and he\'s getting a melta pistol where the bolt pistol used to be. i thought about sending it around the US/Canada/Ausie round robin mini curcuit, but i\'m not sure how well a mod job would hold up under so much mailing.???

OH! and i almost forgot... his new head!

oh yeah its soo sweet

Its almost a perverse thrill for some to work on destruction then reconstruction- like being a mechaniac. Sweet. That\'s some nice work there too itchy. Makes me want to fire up the dremel right now:D

[peer pressure] DO IT! You know you wanna... [/peer pressure]

Come on... you wanna rip up that pewter foolio! Do it! i tend to use the little bit that almost looks like a ball endmill for cutting up pewter... i hear lots of people talking about \"grinding\" pewter, but it\'s not ferous, so you can\'t grind it with the bits that come for the dremel can you? Wont it just clog your wheels? We\'ve got special wheels in the shop for aluminum, but never seen anything made for dremels for pewter work???
