Whoa, 30 years... it\'s quite alot.
But I still haven\'t played it.. is it worth buying 3 books (nearly 130$ for all of them here) ??? I\'d like to test it.

Ahhh, eBay(happy happy, joy joy) I might just check it. Or I might have to go to my friends place and have him find his beginner box.

Can I send my mom and dad ? They\'re going to orlando in 3 weeks :D I\'m a bit too big for the suitcases (6,2 feet :) )

Calavera, if you\'re buying the books, skip 3rd ed., buy 3.5 ! Costs the same, with a few things corrected (but still many loopholes for us munchkins ! :D).

Better yet, buy the originals and some classic modules and play the way us old men used to...none of this attack of opportunity stuff...we had THACO\'s uphill both ways in the snow and dammit we liked it!

:D

3.5 is actually a damn well refined game system.

FOFL... good one Darth...

Have to agree, they actually did nice job with 3.5. A lot of things that we played as \"house rules\" have now found thier way into the system. Will take some getting used to, but I like it!

Becca, if I come to Florida can I play too? I\'ll bring my own books, dice, snacks and everything!! ;)

Cheers,
Grumb

Why don\'t you all come to Texas. The weathers horrible right now, but you can tell your friends you went to the greatest state.

Becca, we love D&D. We get to role-play multiple characters. In my current game, I am a poster on a miniature related board. But I have an alternate evil self. My purpose is to catch the evil me and absorb that personallity.

If I am successful, I get his post count as an XP bonus.

@ Grumb, come on down. the weather\'s great right now. We have most of the downed trees cut up a piled up at the curbs awaiting either pickup by the county or a spark - whichever comes first. Also, the new style of roofing material here is blue vinyl tarp. ;). But Disney & Universal are open and taking money (and keeping me employed).

But bring your dice - we have about 4-6 show up on Saturday nights at my dining room table.

And Darth, don\'t tell them, but they are in 1e & 2e modules for the most part as I have a file cabinet full of them. I just take a little time before we play to \"upgrade\" them to 3.5.

Yes, I like 3.5. It is more war-gamish than 1e & 2e, but it takes a lot of stuff off of the DM. Now when a player says, \"I want to jump that pit and search for the trap trigger\" - you have consistent stats to be able to do that.

Okay, I hate to be TOO \"gamerish\"

Becca - I\'m still waiting for that halfling monk in the mail for a character of mine.

Currently a Rogue/Monk/Swashbuckler, 1/1/1...soon to be a Rogue/Monk/Swashbuckler/Sorceror/Wizard/Cleric, all 1/1/1/1/1/1

Wheee! He\'s so much fun!
