I-kore\'s line is now made by Urban Mammoth.

A freakishly exhaustive list of mini companies (past and present) can be found at The Stuff of Legends. A big one not on your list is Foundry. A few other outfits you might want to have a look at are Alternative Armies, Dream Pod Nine, Fortress, Ground Zero Games, Heresy (makers of Thrud the barbarian), and Copplestone Castings. There are MANY semi-garage size companies out there, with one or a few sculptors and maybe only one line.

Warhammer is put out by Citadel Miniatures, owned by Games Workshop. For the other manufactuerers, you can check here. Heartbreaker was my favorite underdog,... untill it went under... :p

Edit: no fair typing faster than me, NSA!!!

Griffin???

Apocalypse Miniatures (Sci-fi Atlatians or something)

Artizan Designs (best WWII on the market and some other brilliant historics)

Black Tree Design (ok historics & fantasy but by all accounts they\'re a bunch of sock puppets who give poor customer service - only what I\'ve heard on other forums though! Lots of people have had good experiences too)

Crusader Miniatures (historics, some fantasy, and the recently acquired Corvus Belli range of historics - they\'d make an excellent alternative to GW Bretonnians!)

Thunderbolt Mountain (by Tom Meier the daddy of all sculptors)

:D

Ral Partha:

As sold in Europe by Gamecraft, Parr Street, Liverpool.

Called in on Thursday when I met up with G-Nome. Josh it was a great day. Nice to meet up with a Comn\'ner when you can, just a pity about tha damn rain.

Game craft prices £1.75 a figure with 10% discount of the shelf. Oooooh! But I was very good spent less than £10.00. But they also have other non-miniature games there as well.

Let\'s not forget...

IPaintMinis, this was not a dumb question at all! ;)

This is a pretty good list so far!

Dragonsreach mentions Ral Partha above, but isn\'t the Ral Partha line produced by Iron Wond Metals now. I thought they owned the rights to the Ral Partha line.

I think someone above mentioned WOtC, though there line is diminishing, but I didn\'t see anyone mention of WizKids.

Cheers,
Grumb

Just remember ipaintminis....
There is no such thing as a stupid question, but there are a lot of stupid people with annoying questions, just ask any computer tech, and they can tell you some stories.
But your question is not stupid for someone recently getting into the hobby, many of the companies listed above have great mini\'s.
I myself like Spyglass (especially since Steve is getting into the 54mm mini\'s) , and Werner Klocke\'s mini\'s for Reaper are pretty nice, too.
