I leave for a, long, while, and come back, and now everyone\'s a freak! *pulls up a cain and rocking chair* I remember, back in the day, when nobody knew what a Posting Freak meant, now you youngun\'s and your \"Fourth tales from the freak bar\" and three forum moderators....

Where was I? Oh yeah, just came by to say hello to all the people that I up and disappeared on long ago.

Well, I\'m doing it again on you :p
The Airforce called and I wasn\'t doing anything better at the time. I better not be the only non-freak left when I get back to a computer!

Edit: Oh, and what ever happened to that Mini magazine that had miniatures with each issue?

Welcome back.
Paper wise it went toes up. It\'s produced on the website as a PDF but with so much Flashy Crap in it it takes forever to load.

And I do believe I freaked in less than a year actually . . . I started posting on her regularly in the fall . . . before I think I had less than 100 posts.

Welcome back you young whippersnapper.

Air Force, huh?

How was San Antonio?

Actually I\'m just getting into the Air Force. Ship to San Antone this next tuesday. :( Which means disappearing for two months, but coming back afterwards as I get to take my laptop to tech training!

The absence mainly came out of WoW, lots and lots of WoW. I wandered the internets from Warseer to Da Waaagh! to the underbelly of the internet (Something Awful :p). I return with many a tale.... and probably a few viruses (though not communicable). I left a cynical young lad, and come back a cynical slightly older lad.

As to being part of the chair farce. If I wanted to get shot at, I\'d stay in Texas and try to take people\'s guns away. :drunk:

Always good to see the old names still on here, even if some of the avatars have changed.

Not going to ask about your MOS at this point, but you do realize you\'ve got a pretty good chance even in the Air Force of visiting the senic sandbox, right?

Course, most of the Air Force guys we had run through TQ were on 90 day rotations.

I was prepared enough to sign a contract stating my job (no open-contract truck driving for me!). I also go in with an upgrade to paygrade due to four years of JROTC (I don\'t call it service, I call it due pay for babysitting a senile retiree and a public face of the service :( ). Basically, if I end up in the scenic sandbox I\'m stuck deep in an airbase working on aircraft.

You still on voluntary service over there working commerical contracting jobs, Steelcult?

Basic is over, I\'m off to tech school at Pensicola NAS tomorrow at 0200 (I\'d complain about the lack of sleep, but at this point, I\'m used to it). I\'m hoping I get my first choice of duty stations at Mildenhal RAF in the UK, but we\'ll see (they call our base choice list a \"dream sheet\" for a reason).

It was truely 6 1/2 weeks of pain but a lifetime of pride.

PS, anyone know a good gaming spot near that base?

Well, he just got back from ol San Antone, but the rest of the time he\'s been busy at work for the most part (which was where he got most of his cmon surfing done). Something about the terrors of trying to get Vista to network with XP. I\'ll make sure to get on him about making a re-appearance, as long as I\'m doing likewise.

Pensicola\'s real nice, not quite near the opressive heat of SA so far.
