GOD I\'M ANNOYED.

I want the following written on my grave in pebbles: \"Here lies Mosch and he\'s goddamn annoyed.\"

My father is trying to sleep, which is not possible since our turkish neighbour decided to try out his new power drill. Now I understand how he wants to decorate his house, but he actually only started today at 4 PM, the very hour my father went to bed (he works at night). The incessant drilling went on and on, making my father get up again. At 9 PM he stopped at once - also, my father had to go to work.
My enquiry if he would be so good as to not be so loud tomorrow when my father needs to sleep was answered with \"The law allows it\". True, it does.

But vengeance shall be mine. I have no courses tomorrow, so I will be there in the morning. Ah yes, the morning - the part of the day he spends watching television with his wife. He will also spend the morning listening to his neighbours\' son who will be practicing his Kendo strikes in the living room (which incidentally is sharing a pretty thin wall with his TV room). And practice I shall, with a LOUD KIAI before and during every stroke, a basic principle in Kendo. I am pretty sure he\'ll be more than happy to be told that what I\'m doing is totally legal and good for my health too.
Hm. It\'s also legal to try and convert his children his scientology, is it not? :D

As a past president and cofounder of the APA (Amalgamated Professional Assholes) I feel I know a ting or two on the subject. I was going to say: Nice try. You\'re on the right track. Keep trying. But then I came to this line:
\"Hm. It\'s also legal to try and convert his children his scientology, is it not?\"
lol:bouncy:lol
Beautiful!!! Yes!! You have achieved it! I salute you!

Firstly, did you explain that your Dad works nights? If so, then feel free.

Go to the local Doctor\'s office or hair salon and check out the magazines. Find the card that has \"check the box for more information from our advertizer\" Check them all and put his address and phone number in. Check the \"feel free to call me\" box.

Sign him up for a wake up service that calls an hour before he normally awakens. You have to cover your tracks pretty good here.

Learn to like (whatever he doesn\'t - metal, country, gangsta) and play it loud with your speakers against the walls. My favorite is \"Angus McAwful on Bagpipes\" But your milage may very.

Go to the second hand stores. Get an exercise machine (treadmill, etc) with bad bearings so it squeeks awful. Stay up late exercising.

So far we are at the no-destructive stage. This can escallate many more levels.

@Mosch this is a good start but remeber that these nieghborhood disputes can get nasty. Just look at the Jews and Arabs. That started with two brothers fighting over some stuff.

I would explain to him the situation again and give him one more chance then all bets are off. I like where airheads going and I would also contact your local Jehovas and tell them your interested and give them his address.

Good luck.

Orrrrrr....heh heh heh...

You could put some nice porn in the VCR and play it REAL loud by that very same wall...:moon:

And when his wife tells him to come over and ask you to stop as it\'s interrupting their TV time, you answer the door with some tissues in one hand and lotion in the other and tell him it\'s perfectly legal, isn\'t it? Then thank him for intterupting you and your \"mood\", and now you have to start all over again...

Zora, thats Great lol
Just make sure that your look the part, (mostly naked)

you could also... learn to yodel, get a loud dog. If you cant have a dog where you live, then \"borrow\" some dog poop from a friend who has a dog, put it in a paper bag, place it on neighbors door step, light it on fire, ring the bell and run like hell... its great to see the Asshole stop out the flaming bag of dog crap!

I share your emotion. We have some neighbors that had a LOUD party in their front yard at 2 am!!!!!! They would go on fishing trips, leaving at 4 am and be shouting: \"did ya get the ice chest\" really loud......................but, be careful what you wish for, cause you might get it. Look before you leap. A skirmish could turn into war. Could you get more of your neighbors together and confront him as a group? Fully explain what the effects of his actions are having on your father. Lastly, good earplugs really work well. The latter has helped me greatly.

I just had a big subwoofer that I would put up against the wall, facing it, which was actually really good for the music because it used the whole wall as a sounding board...on both sides :D

I did. Also, I don\'t really want to terrorize him, just, um... \"enable him to relate to my father\'s plight\". Yeah, that sounds a lot better than \"piss him off\".

I\'d do that porn thing, but I have no porn DVDs... I thought about bidding on those guys - for those that don\'t speak German, basically they are two rock bands that will party with you all night long. They bring their own equipment too :D

My father also had a great idea. You know how those guys are Muslims? We could keep pigs. A whole lot of them, just in the garden. As soon as it gets warmer, barbecue season! A pig a day keeps the neighbour away lol We should also invite him and ONLY serve pig. Then look shocked when he says he can\'t eat it. Then, the next day, ROAST A PIG AGAIN. Bwahahaha.

Orginal gepostet von Shawn R. L.Lastly, good earplugs really work well. The latter has helped me greatly.

Unfortunately, they don\'t. The walls are too thin and his power tools too loud.

Also, I do not want to really have a fight with him. He is actually pretty nice. Sometimes. When he\'s not trying to be a prick. Wouldn\'t hurt him to react to me greeting him neither.

I worked nights for about 5 years. I bartended, and didn\'t get out of work until 4:00 am, so never got to bed until 5 or 6 am (right when everyone else starts getting up). I live in a large apartment complex, so someone is always making noise during the day. I figured just because I work nights I can\'t expect everyone else to be quiet just for me when they are awake. So, I got myself some blackout curtains, and a large box fan that blocks out almost any sound, even right outside my window. Basically from experience, I think your dad should probably adapt to the situation if he\'s going to be working nights for a long time. If I got pissed everytime someone woke me up before I had the curtains and fan, I would have had an all out war with about 50 neighbors.
As someone else said; wars with neighbors can get ugly; I actually had one threaten to slit my throat once; so I would avoid it if possible.

This is a very amusing thread. Remind me never to get on the bad side of any of you.
lol

But, in the interest of preventing a war in Mosch\'s neighborhood, I think what you\'ve got here is a cultural chasm. You say your neighbor is Turkish. So perhaps in Turkey what he\'s doing would probably not provoke any problems. In a lot of other countries people don\'t think anything about being noisy all hours. They\'ve been taught since childhood how to filter out the noise.

You could ask another Turkish person what they would do. Maybe just screaming at him to shut up would actually be the best response. Who knows.

And just because he\'s Turkish doesn\'t automatically mean he\'s Muslim. :)

While you are right, my father has been working at night for several years now, and he deals with it pretty well. But that answer I got just made mad. It\'s not against the law. Well, it\'s right, but would it hurt him to try to be nice? Had he told me that he\'d be done in an hour, I\'d have said fine and thank you.
What I have not yet told you is that once he actually asked me to turn my music down, which I did (it was in the evening too, by the way). Minutes later I hear loud turkish flute music coming from his living room.
We even helped him move in, for christ\'s sake! Is it too hard to be a little considerate? And by the way I don\'t think it\'s cultural differences, he\'s about ten years older than me and has always lived here in Germany.

Also, I know for a fact that he\'s a Muslim ;)

Man, that thread is good, I feel the rage in me slowly fading, and believe when I say that that\'s a pretty rare occurence.
OK, he\'s got a last chance. His kids wake me up tomorrow morning? I put on my Gi and Hakama. He says he\'s sorry or just stops his bullshit? He\'s free to go.

I wouldn\'t say that\'s good for the music... The bass gets really blurred that way! I have to keep my speakers 30 cm away from any wall in order to avoid that effect. But, for Mosch\'s purpose I\'d say it\'s a brilliant idea! :D

I\'m not contributing. I don\'t want to give you all ideas.

All I can say is... you don\'t want to be my neighbour.
