Aye, pixmania is good. That\'s where we got ours from, and it has served very well indeed. But I broke it 2 weeks ago..... :duh: you could probable buy a camera with very good macro for not much money now, when we got ours a couple of years ago technology was not so advanced :D

not knowing what a 13 year old can earn these days.......that\'s still vague.

The low end cameras probably will struggle to cope, but much has to do with how you take a pic; lighting, stablising the camera etc.

£10 £20 £50 £100? birthday approaching?

Ebay is always a good place to start. You might even luck out and find that someone on this site might be willing to sell an older camera to you.

For reference, in case you break your camera:

Our repair bill is about 215 quid. Goning to buy a new one I think........ :rolleyes:

Do check out ebay, and if you know of a camera model that has been replaced in the last year or two, it\'s possible to buy a bargain

for example; Digital SLRs. Right now there\'s a complete Canon 300D bundle (6.3mp), that was replaced last year by the 350D, that\'s currently up at £77 with 2 days to go. Another a £161 with one day to go. (these were £600 + when released)

Getting an idea of what you want, and asking questions (remember there\'s a photography forum here) and I think you\'ll be alright by christmas
