I\'m sorry...

I am sorry I haven\'t been active on here. I\'ve been busy doing other things.

I just wanted to let you all know that I probably won\'t be on here again anytime soon.

Recently (Wednesday) I lost the closest friend in my family.

My Aunt Renee went in or minor surgery (oral surgery) and was rushed to the Emergency Room when she went in to cardiac arrest.

She never woke up.

The autopsy was performed Thursday morning and her heart and lungs passed inspection just fine, especially good for a woman her age (48).

They result of her toxicology were sent off for further investigation. They are saying that it is most likely that she was over-sedated. And that lack of vitals monitoring is the cause.

The point of the matter is that she is gone.
She was an inspiration to everyone she met.

She is the one person in my fake @$$ family that had real emotions and shared them.

She inspired me to join the Marine Corps, she helped me be better than I was, and for her I stopped my spiral of self destruction and turned my life around.

She kept me sane when my world fell apart. And she kept me going when I wanted to just die.

I loved her and I never got around to thanking her.

Now she\'s gone.

I hope that her passing and me sharing inspires you to make the effort to thank those that helped and inspired you and do it now, before it is too late. We never know when they\'ll be gone.

Bless you all, and thank you for making this community what it is at its best, and keeping it from being permanently what it can be at its worst.

Sorry to hear that. I have a feeling she knew just how much you cared for her, and how much thanks you would give her for one more moment spent in her presence. As a friend of mine used to say (he was killed at 18), \"No regrets.\"

J Marine,
Do what you gotta do. Laugh, cry, get mad at whoever you need to. Then heal and come back to us. We\'ll be here to help if you need a shoulder at any of those stages.

It is better to have loved and lost , than never to have loved at all.

The LORD bless you ,the LORD keep you,may the light of HIS face shine upon you and give you peace.

 Sorry to hear about your loss, J. Airhead\'s advice is good. Work through it and don\'t be too proud to look to others for a shoulder.

My deepest condolences.

Continue to honour her memory by living up to all she inspired you to do. Or in the very least, trying to.

Rest assured that, whatever afterlife you believe in, she is there, and knows how grateful you are for all that she did for you.

We are here when you need us, and as you can see from all the supportive posts that came before mine, that support is not inconsiderable.

This community has demonstrated itself to me over many months to be tightly knit, with many powerful friendships developed through the mutual love of this hobby. At any hour, there is someone here to listen, to share the load, maybe even to make you smile.

I don\'t know anyone here particularly well, as yet, but the openness displayed has made me feel welcome, and I, like just about everyone here, am willing to help in any way I am capable of.

Be strong. And if you should falter, know that we are here to help.

I\'m so sorry for your loss, Jesterz. I think she would have known that you appreciated her. If you had the connection that inspired you to change then I\'m sure she\'d be happy and proud of you turning your life around.

As others have said, we\'re here if you want to vent or share your troubles with.
