I\'m sure this has been discussed more than a few times

It really irks me when people try and pass off meager paint jobs as \"pro painted\" minis on eBay. Some of this trash is just aweful.

Sometimes when I get bored, I will type in \"Pro Painted Warhammer\" in eBay and have a good laugh looking at the crap that comes up!

Those people that sell the garbage in question give the real professionals a bad name!

Most of the sellers posting the better painted stuff will leave out the \"pro\" in the title, I find that more effective. Some still use that word though.

blue table painting is the worst sham in history. a mate of mine bought some of their stuff and they painted it all wrong. i emailed them once asking a few quick questions. and i got back a letter stating if i was interested in franchising i was more than welcome to start a relationship but anything else was not to be discussed. grant it that every once in a while they get it right but they miss more than they hit.

Got finished reading a book on class in America. Old book, but it was interesting in a few spots.

The point that\'s relevant is that people trying to be a bit more high in class level will call for a \"limousine\". The rich just call for \"a car\", with the assumption made of a limousine.

Same thing goes here. A professional would NOT put \"pro\" in their listing, since it would be obvious. Someone trying to be a level higher would.

The book was about the \"tells\" on the classes, and how it was easy to locate the fakers if you knew what to look for. The author was arguing that it was hard to impossible to change the class you were born into because of the ingrained habits.

Actually, aerospace engineer. Been away from college for a decade now.

Imagine that, someone reading a book for the mere pleasure or intrigue of it, rather than an educational requisite. I\'m as shocked as you Uberdark, I thought only eduactaion majors had the capacity! ;)

People who sell stuff on eBay, then call themselves \"pro-painters\" are like if I sold a painting in a flea market then called myself a professional art dealer.

I meaning of \"professional\" is taken waaaaay to liberally.

Personally, to me, a \"professional\" is a person who practices a \"profession\" and a person\'s profession is somehting that generates enough income that they use it to pay thier bills and/or treat it as reportable income for taxation purposes.
Anything else just makes you a \"hobbyist\".

Selling Crap On Ebay Does Not Make You a Professional. Ebay is just a Giant e-Flea Market.

farseelum- \"Paying for it\" is only ever been used to determine professionals in the Sporting area (professional football player, etc). For any other area, \"professional\" mean formal training, certification, and/or licensing.

I\'m not offended or even irked.

As long as a picture shows what the buyer is getting, who cares?

Caveat Emptor. Let the buyer beware.

Let them call themselves the Michelangelos of mini-painting, it all boils down to the buyer.

Plus, I agree with Mr. Farseerlum (thats twice in one week!!!) on his defination of PRO. I think it just means you get paid for your services. A hooker can be a pro, and I\'m sure they wouldn\'t have any schooling or licensing.

\"Pro Painted\" has become nothing more than a search term on eBay and is used by those who think it will lead the buyer to their product. You mostly finf it on the beginners auctions on eBay.
People for years used to use \"Painted Warhhammer\" for everything even if it had nothing to do with the game warhammer or even GW product but Games Workshop put an end to that by having someone troll the auctions and have eBay remove the one s which had nothing to do with the game warhammer. Some thought they would be clever and included a little painted warhammer in their auctions they had cast up to \"Beat\" GW at their game.

In the end it is the quality and reputation of the seller that will win.

I have no issue if a prson uses the term pro painted..couldnt care.. what I useually have issue withy is those who costantly think they have to bring it up. I mean come on who does it hurt..really..
