Hear the History from the horses mouth

This link will drop some science on you about the early days of miniature sculpting by one of the pioneers of the artform...Tom Meier

https://www.thunderboltmountain.com/autobio.htm

This is history from his eyes.

I know you\'ve been directed to the site already, and have actually posted there already!(just saw that while looking for the link)

This is kinda buried though, and extremely good reading about the early days. Hope it helps.

Recommended Reading for the rest of you lot as well!

PS..it\'s a different link than the one Minimaker directed you to, this one is really in depth and personal.

You might want to look around for old copies of dragon and white dwarf. Some of them have minis in them and the painting style has changed a LOT.

There was also a book called the gamers bible about 4-5 years ago. I don\'t know how much mini-stuff it had in it , but it had the progression of old war games into rpgs so thats a minilink also.

Hi,

another place to look for pics of old figures:
http://www.solegends.com/

Example:
1983 GW dwarves: http://www.solegends.com/citboxes/dwfkingsct/index.htm (painting is modern but style is different from current dwarves)
More history here on the citadel pages:
http://www.solegends.com/citadel/index.htm

Another idea. Scale size comparison:

Hi Becca,

I was looking around on the stuff of legends site and ran into this:
http://www.solegends.com/gw1dallingroad.htm
This is the first games workshop store back in 1978.
And here are some of their first releases:
http://www.solegends.com/citf/wd12moltenmagic.htm

By the way, stuff of legends doesn\'t just list minis but also a bit of the different companies\' histories.

You could also talk about Vin Diesal (D&D gamer) and Quentin Tarentino (Board Gamer) for a little more info
