Yep, I want to get into designing miniatures. I\'ve done some freelance illustration, but designing miniatures sounds like more fun. Some pics I\'ve done are here: http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d148/Auralius2004/Miniature%20design/

Can anybody here point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Nice illustrations. Very clean. Have you tried conversions of existing models, to get the feel of working with green stuff, and the basics of miniature modeling? Imho that may be the place to start. Then start with full models, I know that Reaper has starting armatures for about a buck and a half a piece, maybe a good jumping off point.
Either way, I hope to see some of your work. You have some very nice ideas/concepts on the photobucket site,

I mean draw. Is there some kind of comprehensive master list of miniature companies, or should I just Google the names of the companies I find on CMON?

There is a lot of extremely fine artwork in your portfolio and I echo the sentiments about showing them to miniature manufacturers.

However, a word of caution, GW are very \"Tight\" about their Intellectual Property rights and have, I understand, claimed work derived from their game backgrounds as their copyright not the artists. So if you do decide to show your portfolio to GW remove any references to Sigmar, the Two Tailed Commet and anything that can be directly referenced to their IP.

Personally I think that your work is more suited to Reaper as generic figures which would suit their ability to fit into D&D and other roleplaying games rather than a specific system.

My personal favourites are the Vampyr and the \"acrobat\" Mad Hadric. I\'d love to see them cast up.
