About a year ago I bought myself a nice business suit.
Now when I say nice, I mean nice. I have very picky tastes when it comes to some things.
If I could afford Armani suits I\'d wear them every day. Not because I\'m pretentious or anything, I just like the way I look in a nice suit.

Anyway I pay $800 for the suit. Not the suit and some ties, and shirts, just the suit.

My brother is getting married next week so I decide to bring the suit, and a few shirts to the cleaners on friday.

I go to pick it up Saturday, and they lost my suit.

they have my friggin\' shirts, but they \"lost\" the $800 suit.

I\'m so friggin livid, I have to wait 10 business days for them to fax around all the stores to make sure it wasn\'t delivered to one of them, and if it\'s not found they have to pay me for my suit, which I\'m sure due to the cost they\'ll balk at.

So if you hear about a guy in Louisiana burning down a cleaners, that\'s probably me.

Cleaners

Used to work at a Dry Cleaners, let me tell you, they probably put it in some other guys order, and unless that dude is a nice guy you can kiss that suit good by.

I hate taking my suit to the cleaners, its like giving a large sum of cash to a stranger and telling them to bring it to your house later that night.

Some turd from the store probably took a shine to your suit and whisked it away, it is now taking pride of place in his wardrobe.

The most I ever spent on a suit was £160, down from £220 iirc. That\'s like $400 max. And I got a shirt and tie :) (no belt though, I bought myself a fancy Italian belt. I get more use out of that than I do the suit).

Dude, you\'re supposed to post that on your MySpace page, not here ;)

If they put the suit on someone else\'s order, there\'s a good chance it\'ll be returned... believe it or not most people are not dishonest.

If it just vanished... some dry cleaner now has a new suit and they owe you for it. If you can prove the suit\'s worth, small claims court would not be a bad idea.

My $300 suit from Stars has been to 3 weddings, 1 funeral, and 1 halloween (as an MIB costume), and is still going strong :D nothing like being a cheap bastard ;)

Thats TWICE as much as I paid for mine, and I can trump you 1 more funeral. No halloween costume though...

Never owned a suit. Being built like the worlds largest dwarf makes suits kinda not an option.

Have had some nice sport coat/slacks combinations - that made several weddings and multiple funerals (used to work for a funeral home so. . . . )

Sorry to hear you lost your suit - perhaps it will show up as everyone has said.

If not, burning is not the answer. Well, perhaps it is if applied in the proper manner.:D

got a bargain on my suit because of a bulk order discount...don\'t ask. lol. So far its survived: 2 dry cleanings, 4 concerts, 3 really nice dinners, and 1 fancy party. Surprised that it survived that many concerts without me falling off or through the stands with it on. lol

Kill! Kill! Kill!

That totally sucks.

I haven\'t owned a proper \'suit\' since I was 17, and went to a cousin\'s wedding.

I\'m not an \'off the rack\' size. If I want a proper suit, I\'m going to have to shell out a mint for custom fitting.

But I feel for you.

I dont think I own $800 worth of clothes (I go for the low maintenance look)

But if it was me you would now be reading the headlines \"Drycleaner found dead in drycleaning machine\"

Give it to em.

Shoulda had it cleaned in Varanasi in India.

We sent the dirty clothes we\'d been travelling for 5 months to be washed, when they came back three days later, they were immaculate. The turned-grey shorts had reverted to their original khaki color, my wife even wore them to the office once we got back home!

The only laundry marks on the clothes were three small dots on each article in indelible ink -- the hotel owner said marks such as these had been used to solve murder cases. EVERYTHING gets back to its owner.

Amazing how clean the clothes got after being washed in the holy Ganges -- the water in the river is muddy brown.

edit: Sorry to hear about the suit, btw. I understand your anger and frustration.

In Norway, you are protected by the law. If a firm loose, or damage something that belong to you, they have to replace it. I hope for your sake that the law protect you too;)

To hell with that! I\'d want the whole thing! What good is just the back???
;)

Hope they find it for you, ED.
