Ideas for conversions, dioramas etc

There\'s lots of inspiration on this site, but I thought it would be interesting to have a inspiration thread, where we share ideas for conversions, dioramas, themed armies etc.

I know I have far more ideas than I ever have time to do, so here\'s a few to start the ball rolling.

1) Imperial guard last stand. Similar to the ones you see with Marines, but with Imperial guard.

2) Raising the dead - a graveyard with a necromancer raising the dead, so lots of skellies and zombies clawing their way out of the ground.

3) Space Skaven - skaven with guns  (I\'ve actually done a couple of these but never had the chance to fully explore the idea)

4) Dragon waterfall - a blue or white dragon emerging from the plunge pool of a waterfall.

well thats a start

Here\'s my idea:

A small Tau recon team (pathfinders or stealth suits) finding themselves ambushed by a horde of Tyranids, or a squad of Space Marines.

i know it\'s hardly original but i would love to do a space hulk scene. simle but effective with a terminator standing with a genestealer poking out from a pipe or someting above him, about to pounce.

also like to try a bloodthirster and sanguinius duel from the seige for the emperors palace

Well I just had an idea the other day. make an irish empire army. You could use green stuff to make them kilts and have leeprichaunes walking around with big thingys full of gold .

Oh and for those of you who play warcraft III you could make wood elf with light purple skin and dark blue hair.

gotta have the Space Marines...

I\'ve always wanted to see a diorama of a Thunderahwk Gunship sitting on the pad with access hatches open and ground crew loading weapons. You know, like before a sortie. you could also have a squad of marines (or demonhunters now:)) prepping their sidearms, bolters, missile launchers, etc. waiting to board.

I\'m just beginning a new one (actually it\'s the first I\'m going to try :p ) . It will be an expedition-crew being stalked by a sabretooth tiger . expeditioners will be a henchman , an adventurer and a ranger . I think these mini\'s have a lot of character and really shine together in a diorama. There will be a bizarre tree (made with fimo and doll-eyes), lots of vines and a rocky outcropping. The Tiger will be on the top of the rocks, looking at the adventurers, the ranger will be more to the side (looking at some tiger tracks), and the knight and his page will be ahead. I\'m making some sketches right now, so I\'ll post them later, you\'ll get a better idea of how it will look by then. This diorama will be a real challenge for me, since I\'ve only painted at a \"tabletop\" level. anyways, I\'ll have fun, that\'s what matters :D

That looks like a pretty cool diorama tuubje. I haven\'t made any diorams yet but I\'ll probably start one day :D

Your welcome:D And the painting clinic is indeed a great site. It\'s actually one of the only good site with lots of article that i have found ( with CMON of course ). And all of the painting technics I have learned so far are due to the painting clinic. Thanks doc :D

-idea: A wizard duel ( you could see the effect of there magique on the battle field, like burned tree ,dead rising, walking trees, flying rocks ect ..)
