Identifying minis

Is this the appropriate forum for identifying unknown minis? I have a number of random minis I picked up on Ebay that I can\'t identify - either no markings on the base or I can\'t make them out.

Yup, definately here is a good spot.

I\'m anxious to see them...These CMoners have a pretty good batting averaging in identifying stuff...

A few are Ral Partha and Grenadier, but not from any set I recognize. Many are complete unknowns. Let me take some pics and then I will post them.

A bit of a snag. I tried to copy and paste the image directly into the message, but that does not seem to work.

I also can\'t find the \"upload field\" mentioned in the FAQ for the Forums.

Can someone please walk me through it?

Hey! I\'ve had a few of these! The giant ogre and the spear orc. Sadly I don\'t know who made the ogre. I believe \"Alternative Armies\" made the spear orc (and probably that other orc with the tassel shield too). I bet the \"Princess\" is Mithril, from their old LotR range.

PS: the ogre\'s ankles are kind of weak...

Hmm, that wasn\'t too helpful... two down though.

Didn\'t they come with integrated bases? At least the ones I have all have those.

I think you are probably right, Ritual. There is a wizard with similar body proportions in the lot of minis I picked up that is a Mithril figure (stamped on a circular base). The \"princess\" is clearly missing something, unless her dress is supposed to be levitating.

I recognize the middle row left-most figure and think he\'s still in production. I just can\'t remember by whom. I had a Dark Ages catalog that he was in. I believe he\'s a Julie Guthrie sculpt.

Yeah they did. I thought this one might have had it removed. It also has that sort of Mithril-primer colour, which is why I thought of it.

Wow, those Death Lords are pretty cool!

unfortunately discounthobby doesn\'t appear to be selling the old grenadier any longer. They have a few halflings listed but are probably just dumping their inventory. I have the halfling scout and the quality is good even by today\'s standards.

Thanks, everyone. One definite and several probable IDs. Anyone recognize the musician guys on the top row?

I think the top row, far left might be Shadowrun, but no identifying marks.

The second row far right has one really unusual feature - he appears to have a camera hanging off his belt in the back. Hopefully that might ring a bell for someone.
