Identifying Old Miniatures

Hello,

Today I was given a really cool Dragon miniature and I know nothing about it,does anyone know of a good place to look?

Just incase one of you is a miniature genius this is what I can tell you about it:

It is about 7 inches long, nn all fours with its wings unfurled, and sitting on a huge well detailed treasure hoard. One last thing a sig (WAW) appears on a disc in the center of the treasure hoard which is possibly a sculptor/manufaturers mark.

I am working on getting a photo of it

Best wishes

Mike

William Watt was most likely the sculptor, and since I think he did much of grenadier\'s stuff, I\'d say its the Treasure Guardian 2901 Dragon

Is this him?

My first thought was actually \'Dragons Don\'t Share\' by Reaper, but that one isn\'t really so old...

Supervike you are a star, that\'s my dragon :)

Just in the process of stripping it for repainting, thanks very much my search is now at an end.

Good find Supervike!
Now why isn\'t anyone able to ID the lizard man I lost years ago and have been dying to replace???

As all my other minis at the time were true 25mm scale, he stood well above them, though he\'s probably not quite 30mm.

Maybe snake man would be a better term, but I\'ll try to describe him:

Standing right foot slightly in front of left.
Left arm bent at the elbow holding a round shield carved with a spider-web pattern.
Right arm more or less straight down holding an enormous mace, the head of which is on the ground.
Tail hanging straight down touches the ground and curves a bit to the right, not too long.
Head was blunt-nosed and had tiny eyes - rather more snake-like than lizard-like. I think the tip of his tongue may have been sticking out, but it wasn\'t forked.
Imagine Arnold Schwarzeneger or Lou Ferrigno a few years back to get the idea of his build (unlike any other lizard men I\'ve ever seen).
Oh, and possibly the most immediately recognizable feature was, um, his thingy (this is a family site, right?).
He was hung like a porn star, but relaxed.

Anyway I always thought he was very cool, but I found him on the ground when I was in Jr. High and there were no makings on the base so I\'ve no idea where he came from. He went with a piece of luggage that got stolen years ago and of all the painted minis I lost, I think I miss him the most because he was so unique.
